MarTechCharts regularly highlights data that is important to marketers and marketing professionals.

Agentic AI is rapidly changing the face and feel of shopping for both retailers and consumers, according to a report on agentic commerce from management consultancy Kearney.

The report, “Agentic Commerce: from brand loyalty to bot logic,” found that 73% of consumers are familiar with AI tools and 60% of shoppers expect to use agentic AI in the next twelve months.

The report goes on to say that retailers who are not prepared for this shift face enormous risks. Much of that risk will come from cross-platform “super agents” that operate outside the control of retailers.

These cross-platform bots represent a huge shift for retailers, who are used to focusing on the needs of their customers. In a world of agentic commerce, bots will encourage shoppers to look elsewhere for better deals or a better match.
