Kurt Kitayam’s weekend Birdie Barrage on the 3M Open was not only able to climb the trophy in TPC Twin Cities, but also threw him in the Top 60 in the FedEx Cup Playoff classification, with which he probably insured a place in the first round of the Play -offs on the Fedex St. Jude Champions.
While Kitayama will not spend this regular season finale on the Wyndham Championship that its place in the FedEx Cup classificationOther players will not be lucky.
With only the Top 70 that the Play -offs now makes, several big names will enter the outside the last week, while others arrive in Greensboro, NC, hoping to strengthen their position to make the second play -off event at the BMW championship.
Here are some of the big names that are on the FedEx Cup bubble that enter the regular season finale:
Looking at …
These six players are all outside the Top 70 on their way to the Wyndham.
Adam Scott
Scott finished T53 on the 3M open and is now 85th in the rankings. The Australian, who had the opportunity to win the US Open a month ago, has to compete in the Wyndham to extend his season. Scott has only missed the play -offs once in his career. A two -way band for third place or better Scott should get in the top 70.
Tom Kim
A missed cut at the 3M hit Kim up to 89th in the FedEx Cup classification. The Wyndham Championship winner of 2022 will have to find something to reach Memphis this week. Kim needs at least a solo-thorough place this week to reach the Fedex St. Jude.
Max Homa
This year Homan has shown flashes of his old self, but the consistency was missing. After a T5 finish at the John Deere Homan had a mediocre show at the Barracuda Championship (T45) and settled for a T39 finish at TPC Twin Cities. HOMA is 106 in the FedEx Cup classification and needs a big week to safely in the Top 70.
Homan needs at least one two -way binding this week to get into the top 70, but may need a victory, depending on what other players do for him.
Billy Horschel
Horschel has not played anymore since they undergo hip surgery in May. His plan is to return for the FedEx Cup Fall Slate. He is currently in 97th place and will perform at least another month.

Gary Woodland
The US Open Champion 2019 finished T20 in Minnesota and is 75th in the rankings. A solid week in the Wyndham should get Woodland back in the play -offs. Woodland has only one top five finish this season.
This week, Woodland needs at least a solo 27th place to get to the top 70, although he should do better, depending on what those do for him in Greensboro.
Joel Dahmen
Just like Homan, Dahmen, who is no. 101, needs a top in the Wyndham to extend his season or otherwise he goes to the Fedex Cup Fall Slate to try to retain his fully exempt status for 2026.
This week Dahmen needs at least one two-way bindings to make the play-offs.
In but still with work …
These three players are all in the Top 70 on their way to Wyndham – But not much!
Rickie Fowler
Fowler made the cut on the 3M and placed a T28 finish to go to 61st in the rankings. He should be good for a trip to Memphis, but needs a solid week in the Wyndham and at the Fedex St. Jude to get the top 50 for the BMW.
With a solo 12th place this week, Fowler can conquer his place in the play-offs without any help.
Tony -Arguments
It has been a down season for Finau, who has not recorded top 10 finish since the Genesis Invitational. He missed the cut on the 3M and is now at 60th in the rankings. A good show in Greensboro is required for Finau to play past Memphis.
A solo 23rd place this week from Finau will spend him to Memphis without help needed from those behind him.
Jordan Spieth
Spieth is currently 50th in the FedEx Cup classification. He plays in Memphis, but threatens to miss the BMW if he does not play well for the next two weeks.
