5 things I learned from the inaugural offsean of Franchise League Football

Renee Miller shares some of the most important strategic lessons she has learned by participating in several franchise League football auctions and how they influence her approach to the coming season.

Have you heard about the latest format for Fantasy Football? It is Franchise League Football (FLF), and you can view my introduction to the game, How you can navigate storage/dropand what The auction of a real competition Unveils in the Rotoviz Dynasty tab. I see it as a hybrid between hardcore dynasty and DFS. You start with a fully seasoned selection of only 14 players, make your cuts to keep between six and nine players and get rid of your schedule in a blind bid auction while staying under the $ 100 million salary hood. Oh, and every player comes with a contract salary and duration. Some can be extended – for a price – and some become limited free agents, so that the market can determine their salary.

I am the CEO of Franchise League Sports, so it will be no surprise that I am in it four Five of these intense, addictive competitions for our inaugural season. After supervising the development of the app and trying out in countless tests with my team at Scope Labs, Inc., I moved all my “home” competitions to FLF. I have completed three of the five auctions, the final phase for the game of the game starts on Thursday. Here are some of my strategic collection restaurants for this game.

5 strategic collection restaurants of multiple auctions

  1. If you are used to drawing up a lot of best balls, you might think that a short timer is ideal. Timers of 20-30 seconds are great if you do 20 rounds of a snake design. But when bidding on RFAS and FAS in the FLF auction, I learned that 60-75 seconds prefer a lot. These decisions will influence your franchise for the next three years, so you don’t want to feel rushed.
  2. Do your research! The app gives you 48 hours between the schedule reduction and the auction start. I am a pen and paper person, so I went through franchise franchise, and noted their available salary, positional strengths and needs, and whether they would probably match salaries for all the RFAs they have kept. Players like Jahmyr Gibbs And Sesam Robinson were held on their rookie salary of $ 6 million, but would eventually cost between $ 20-30 million. My friend has made a spreadsheet for our Family League, but it is the same concept. You must predict what others will do to come up with your own strategy to fill in your selection.

  1. The most difficult part of the preview auction for me was to balance the future dominance with Win-Now potential. “Boring” veterans such as Calvin RidleyDjome Moeure isDavante AdamsAnd Josh Jacobs are probably more startable in the 2025 season than exciting rookies such as BHAYSHUL TUTENOllie GordonTory Hortonor Don’e Thornton. Although it is great to load young talent for the minimum salary ($ 2 million or close), you cannot neglect to introduce a viable team in week 1.
  2. Your salary limit is $ 100 million. At a certain moment in the auction you will see that a few managers have stored enough to offer more than others. In other words, they can get whoever they want, while I may have exactly $ 6 million to fill my three remaining places. It may be tempting to show off and throw $ 8-10 million bids away only because you can, but you will wear those salaries to the next low season. Do not pay a dollar more than you have to secure your boys.

  1. Be patient and do not place yourself in that position of $ 6 million for three players I have referred above. Save at least a few hundred thousand, so that you can always bridge the people who have not thought so far ahead. Let most people will nominate boys they want in the auction and hope to win them for the minimum (everything they can afford). I was in a concept that was at this point and nominated someone Travis HunterA player I had on my wish list. I got it with an offer of $ 2.01 million. The app shows you your maximum bid for each nomination; I never learned to post it, but to save a few decimal places for the endgame.

Preparation for week 1

Let’s talk about setting the line -up of that first week. Some of you think: “Is there an easier task in Fantasy Football than Setting the Line -Up of Week 1?” Maybe not. With nine starters (including K and D/ST, that I will ignore because you start the one you have) and five bench spots, you might be printed in a number of difficult decisions, especially if you have gone for many young, unproven rookie players. Because we have injury replacement (not for week 1, but very soon), most franchises wear two QBs and even two TEs.

We also have a preseason Waiver -wire processing Thursday morning at 4:00 am Edt, so you can tinker even more before the final decision (s) has to be made. For the competition I have written about before, I don’t have difficult decisions this week. Bo Nix Vs. Sam Darnold Is absolutely nix. I have Christian McCaffreyAaron JonesAnd RJ Harvey at RB; Even the matchups are great for the veterans. At WR I stacked some Seahawks, but the two browns – AJ Brown And Amon-Ra St. Brown – are clear starters. Mine too Brock Bowers. So it’s down Zay -flowers or Cooper Coup In the flex.

On paper they had very similar 2024s, where Kupp naturally missed different games due to an injury and now ran side by side Jaxon Smith-Njigba In Seattle. Three factors force me to start flowers at my flex spot, despite his overall bad show against the accounts last season. First, the matchup is. The accounts are more imaginative than the 49 people, which means that about 30 more passing yards and 0.1 more touchdowns per game are possible than San Francisco. Second is age. I am Ageist, okay? Third is QB report. It’s not Stat, but Lamar Jackson And flowers have been together for two full seasons, while the connection of Kupp and Darnold is new. I have a fourth, not that it is strictly necessary, but the pointed total at the game of the Bills Ravens is seven points higher than Seahawks-49ers. More points in real life usually means more fantasy points.

What if your decisions are not so clear?

In another competition I have a number of challenges. My WR room is very young outside Ceedee Lamb: Matthew GoldenDon’e ThorntonTravis HunterAnd Quentin Johnson. My RBS – Ashon JeantyTreeveyon HendersonHubbard cablesAnd Tank Bigsby – will have to pick up a play of a week 1. Although Jacksonville has received the literal competition-best RB-Matchup, Bigsby is probably the strange man from this group this week, with everyone who projects Travis Etienne Like the starter. Maybe I should move the unusual (for me) to use an RB in my flex. Alternatively, I am considering dropping Johnston for someone like Stefon Diggswhich is available on the Waiver wire. Other seductive options would be Darnell Moeney or Marvin Mims -Costed late-round best ball favorites of mine this summer.

The mentality shifts from building a winning franchise through transactions, storing/dropping decisions and the auction to win week 1 comes quickly. It will be nice to see how this inaugural season is going on. I have no doubt that I can learn a lot, but I learn how to do the best. Thank you for having been a ride while we navigate through this new fantasy format, the first to change the way in which Fantasy Football is played since the arrival of DFS 15 years ago. Stay informed during the regular season, because we have planned some exciting updates!
