Training camp officially starts on Sunday for the Vikings, because Rookies are set to report, and then veterans will follow on Tuesday.
It is another milestone in the low season to start a long -awaited season for the Vikings. New start QB JJ McCarthy takes the helm, a huge cornerback struggle will start and stars as Justin Jefferson will be back on the field.
With the excitement that starts this week, there are four predictions for what will happen by the time Vikings Training Camp closes.
The Vikings are still acquiring a defense back
Cornerback is the most investigated position on the Vikings schedule in the training camp for the following month Plus. Simply put, the Vikings now have too many projects in their secondary for one of them not to go wrong.
Byron Murphy is now the clear CB1, but who will stand out behind him? Isaiah Rodgers has shown promising in his career, but has never been a consistent starter. Jeff Okudah was a third general choice in 2021, but he never realized that hype. Mekhi Blackmon comes from a torn ACL who ended his 2024 season before it really started. Then there is a whole series of UDFAs who want to make a name for themselves.
Secondly, Minnesota could have a few questions about the safety position. Harrison Smith is 36 years old, so how much gas remains in the tank that seems to be endless during his career? Theo Jackson is the supposed replacement for Camryn Bynum, but can he realize that invoicing?
In general, the Vikings always seemed to make at least one movement during the training camp to bring an extra body or two for position fighting. A defensive back seems to be the most likely option as Minnesota that would continue trend in 2025.
Tai Felton emerges as WR3
One of the biggest surprises of the low season before the Vikings came when she chose Wr Tai Felton from Maryland in the third round of the design. It seemed that Minnesota had a pretty solid trio in Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor, but who knows if Minnesota can pay one of the last two. Nailor’s contract will take place after this season and Addison’s fifth -year option will take place in 2027.
The selection of Felton offers long-term security in the position, but let’s not think that he cannot immediately contribute to this Vikings team. Felton was one of the most exciting broad receivers in the Big Ten in 2024 because of its combination of speed and smart route running skills.
There is a very good chance that Felton will secure the WR3 roll, especially with Addison who is probably confronted with a suspension to start the year.
Silas Bolden makes the schedule of 53 men
After the departure of Brandon Powell, the task of the Punt Returner of the Vikings is wide open. That is at least partly the reason why the Vikings brought in Silas Bolden, who was one of the best Pun Trenders in University Football Last season.
