A summary of round 2 of the 4-day series competitions, which took place throughout the country from 2-5 October 2025.
Western province of vs lions
The home team was first sent to Bat in Newlands and the Lions made foolish use of the favorable bowling conditions in the morning session.
WP was in major problems at 80-7 after 17.4 overs.
If it was not for their stand-in captain, Daniel Smith, they looked like they would never pass the 100-run mark.
Smith hit 102 out of 91 balls (18 four). He was fired with his side at 168.
Western province only managed to score 193 in 45 overs.
Evan Jones took 4-58.
The reaction of the lions was ruthless. They scored 552/9d.
Mitchell van Buuren scored 126 from 253 balls (16 four, 1 six) and Connor Esterhuizen scored a first century – 175 from 260 balls (22 four and 5 sixes).
WP only succeeded in 225 in response.
Lions won by an innings and 134 points.
Boland versus dolphins
Boland won the pitch and chose to hit Paarl.
It was not a good start of the home team, they were 156 completely out, with Lehan Botha Top scoring with 45 not out.
Tristan Luus took 4-42 as the best bowler of the dolphins.
The visitors’ answer was solid. They scored 346 with Tshepang Dithole, who led from the front with his 116 from 172 balls (12 four). Khaya Zondo also contributed with a milestone and scored 61.
Glton Stuurman took 4-46 for the hosts.
Boland’s answer was fantastic and kept them in the game. Their top order did what they are being paid for. Pieter Malan scored 157 from 308 balls (19 four), Grant Roelofsen and Gavin Kaplan both scored 67.
Tristan Luus took three more wickets to end with seven in the game. The dolphins needed 214 to win on the last day, after completing day 3 on 49-1.
They chased the required target, 60s from Tshepang Dithole and Bryce Parsons key to the chase. They managed to reach 264-5 and won with 5 wickets.
Northwest vs Titans
The dragons won the pitch in potchefstroom and were dominant with the bat. They scored 491/8d in their first innings. Meeka -el Prince was fantastic with a 142 out of 258 balls (12 four, 4 sixes), while Wihan Lubbe (75), Rubin Hermann (69) and Dian Forrester (94) all managed half centuries. Schalk Engelbrecht took 4-179, bowling 50 overs.
The hosts then threw out the titans for 262. Lhuan-Dre Pretorius (70) and Donovan Ferreira (71) scored half-centers, which were crucial to avoid the sequel. Ninety from Lesiba Ngoepe (99) and Wihan Lubbe (91), North West helped the lead to 455 after 225/6d.
Engelbrecht took three more wickets to bring his count to seven in the game.
North West took two late wickets at the end of the day 3. The Titans had to score 424 on the last day.
Despite an 119 by Keagan Petersen and a 60 from Dayyaan Galiem, the Titans were challenged for 258 and lost by 196 points.
Tuskers vs Warriors
Rain and poor light influenced the first two days, with only 92 overs possible, but day three saw full play and created a potential result in the last day in Pietermaritzburg.
The Warriors were out of 140, with the 50 of Thomas Kaber, not the only decent score.
Daryn Dupavillion’s 4-28 and 3-25 of Hardus Viljoen were the key to the visitors of the visitors.
Cameron Shekleton did not hold the Tuskers’ innings together with a grim 59 to give the hosts a lead. However, they were thrown out before 185. Matthew Boast (5-52) and Kerwin Mungro (4-43) were fantastic with the ball for the Warriors.
In response, the Warriors were resilient. Muhammad Manack (59) and Matthew Breetzke (50*) led the Vechtback of the Warriors with crucial half center, after early Wickets had made them struggling on 20/2.
Due to stumps on day three, the Warriors were 157/3, with a considerable lead with Breetzke (50)) And Matthew de Villiers (30) at the fold, making the competition nice ready for the last day.
Breetzke converted to a century and the Villiers until half a century. The Warriors explained on 269-6.
The dolphins only succeeded in scoring 136-4 and the competition was signed.
