3 suns that will thrive now that Kevin Durant has left the city

The Phoenix Suns may have separated this summer with Kevin Durant, but that does not mean that it is all damn and gloomy in the valley. If you go to a social media site that houses Suns fans, you even have noticed a kind of careful optimism about the future.

Make no mistake, this is a team that will lose games and may not even make the play-in tournament. But not only have fans apparently embraced this, they almost look forward to it when it means that the team will show some fight and togetherness. Immaterial assets that were painfully missing while durant was in Phoenix.

Various Suns players will improve now that Durant has disappeared.

The departure of the 36-year-old means that there are many more photos, touches and minutes to go around, and three suns in particular will seriously benefit from this. It is impossible to replace some durant to the Suns – but if nothing else – the change in direction will make these three players really shine next season. This will be important for various reasons.

3. Devin Booker

Starting with the obvious, and this is now the Devin Booker team again. He has delivered a brilliant task by sharing the attention with Durant – and had no problem postponing him at great moments – but that is not the best use of the great offensive talents of Booker. He needs a Co star who brings out the best to him – such as Chris Paul – and not someone who wants to take over the play.

Armed with an extension of two years, $ 145 million, is the belief that Booker can be prepared so far for his best season in Phoenix. He is in his bloom and can have the ball as much as he wants, and the fact that he was not even called an All-Star last season is something that he certainly wants to correct. The exhibition in the middle season is perhaps largely a popularity competition, but that is a bit the point.

Booker has forgotten in terms of what he can do on the field, but also as a regular figure of it. His role of Team USA was admirable a year ago, but that version of the book must now disappear forever. The last two seasons have had a career high in assists – the two full campaigns that were durant in the city – now it’s time for him to replicate that, but to score every night.

2. Grayson Allen

This may not seem important, but it is in the interest of the Suns to make Swingman Grayson all contribute to the highest possible level that is possible next season. That assumes that he reaches the low season – no guarantees there – and if he leaves, you could replace Royce O’Neale instead.

But the Suns all need to possibly step into a sixth man role because we have seen in the past that he led the entire competition in a 3-point shooting. If he can come close to that 46.1 percent number again, it would make life a lot easier for Booker and Jalen Green. Although Durant occupied so much of the opponent’s game plans, there is reason to believe that all can flourish even more without him.

Defenders will still spend a lot of time on Booker and all, while Kaman Maluach and Mark Williams bring a new center dimension that all benefits. More photos and minutes will improve his commercial value, which should still be the ultimate goal here. It was selfless of all to take a step back when Tyus Jones became a member last season, now it’s time to play another increased role.

1. Jalen Green

This is a double -edged sword – because although Booker has signed the extension – there is even more pressure on green to succeed because he is the literal replacement for durant. He will be known forever as the headline player, the Suns is back for Durant – with regard to Dillon Brooks – and he is expected to set up 20 a night early.

The fit next to Booker is still a reason for concern, especially if this rumor plan is what the organization ultimately does with Green. He is 23 years old, starts from the first day and placed 38 points in a play-off match against the Golden State Warriors last season. On a recovery schedule, this looks like the perfect thing for Green really finally popping.

He gets time and touches to achieve this, although it would be ideal if he could improve his 3-point shooting at 35.4 percent of a season ago. A new head coach in Jordan Ott can also only help Green – such as Durant who has a lot of experience in the competition – he will certainly open to do what is needed to help the team. Press yes, but still without an ideal situation without durant.
