The letter, which describes the road to housing as “one of the most potentially impactful housing proposals in more than a decade”, contains provisions that NHC supports. These include permanent authorization of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) ‘s Disaster Recovery and Home programs, stimuli for new construction, reforms in rural and manufactured homes and measures to reduce homelessness.
The letter insists on legislators to quickly go to the Housing Act in the midst of the national affordability crisis. It notes that Tim Scott (RS.C.), chairman of the Senate Bank Committee, has introduced it as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act 2026, “who offers a quick chance of promoting the bill.”
Finally, the letter calls Congress To use the duality of the bill to build on the recent expansion of the home tax credit program with low incomes.
The “innovative opportunity in the American Dream to Housing Act of 2025” has received support from numerous homes, real estate and mortgage trade groups, although some calls on revisions of certain provisions.
The list of groups that have signed the letter is contained, but is not limited to the National Association of Realtors” Cotalitythe National Association of Home Builders And New American financing.
Under the leadership of Scott (RS.C.) and ranking list Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), The bill was unanimous support at the end of July after a layout of the committee.
