The sitting eighth gene Toyota Hilux is really no longer young, which has been around since 2016 and has experienced quite a few facelifts. Fortunately we know that there will be a new ninth gene (which the Travo name could take in some markets), and although a seismic shift is not expected in terms of exterior styling, the interior can be a different story.
Motive has posted some drawings leaked by @cars_secrets on Instagram. They seem to come from a manual of a Toyota parts and show a new dashboard with different ‘levels’-sear Prado-like, including the thick gear lever and middle air conditioning ventilation openings. No long ‘connected’ screens, but there is a large detached touchscreen- Motive This and the instrument panel says every benchmark of 12.3 inches, and the software must be the same as the Prados instead of the whole new Arene system of 2026 RAV4.
What else can we see? Two dashboard cabinets and what looks like a telephone drawer under the middle air conditioning ventilation openings. The sloping thing for the gear lever can be a storage box; Toyota would really surprise us if it turns out to be a different screen (perhaps for air conditioning control elements). If it is just a storage box, climate controls must be the line directly under the medium ventilation openings, according to the Prado.
An external drawing is also leaked-it seems free on the crystal ball of Theophilus Chin (winding headlights with DRL-Wenkbrauwen and a slender bridging rod, triangular fog light housings), but what we have never seen before, is a Ford Ranger style behind bumper step, which you have to provide late. The new rear lamps are quite sharp in the sides of the bed.
What is expected to be taken over are the platform, the 2GD-FTV 2.4 liters and 1gd-FTV 2.8 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engines and the 48-Volt mild-hybrid system (which we never received). According to MotiveThere may be a new electric power steering that makes Level 2 ADAS possible.
The ninth gene Toyota Hilux is expected to be unveiled this year before he will be for sale in various markets around the world next year. The golden question is, will this generation see the first Hilux EV?
