The latest update represents the Hector’s second major refresh since its debut in 2019 and brings a range of cosmetic changes, feature upgrades and additional safety technology, while retaining the existing powertrain options.
For now, prices have only been announced for petrol variants, while diesel prices are expected to be announced in 2026. Bookings are available through MG Motor India’s official channels and deliveries are expected to commence soon.On the outside, the facelifted Hector gets subtle design revisions. The large front grille has been updated with a new honeycomb pattern, replacing the previous diamond design, while the lower air intake has been slightly reworked.
The SUV now features redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tires, while the black wheel arch cladding and side trim remain unchanged. Lighting elements, including the split headlight setup and connected LED taillights, remain the same, as do the bumpers, daytime running lights and shark fin antenna. MG has also introduced new paint options such as Celadon Blue and Pearl White.
Inside, the 2026 Hector features a new dual-tone Urban Tan cabin theme and a revised 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. The display now supports MG’s i-Swipe gesture control, allowing users to adjust climate settings with a two-finger swipe and manage audio functions with a three-finger gesture. The infotainment system also gets an improved VRAM module, expandable up to 10 GB. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, horizontal air vents, a digital car key with proximity-based locking and unlocking, and an Infinity by Harman sound system.
Mechanically the Hector remains unchanged. It is still offered with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 143 PS and 250 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual or a CVT. The diesel option is a 2.0-liter turbo engine from Fiat, delivering 170 hp and 350 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
MG’s SHIELD ownership program is offered as standard, with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labor-free periodic maintenance services under the 3+3+3 package.

The Hector was originally launched in 2019 as MG’s first product in India and played a key role in establishing the brand in the domestic market. With the 2026 update, the SUV will continue to compete in a crowded mid-range segment with rivals like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Harrier, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO.
