2026 Davis Cup Draw: Qualifiers include Canada vs. Brazil

Last weekend the draw for the 2026 Davis Cup took place in Bologna, Italy. A total of 27 countries looking to join the host Italians at the Davis Cup final have learned where their journey will begin next year.

Italy, who are the three-time defending champions after beating Spain on Sunday, will gain automatic access to the final since they are hosts. As runners-up of 2025, the Spaniards say goodbye to the second qualifying round. They only need to win one draw to appear in Bologna again. The other 26 countries in the series will have to win both the first and second rounds.

The 2026 Davis Cup competition starts on the weekend of February 6. The victorious teams will play the second round from September 18.

A particularly intriguing first-round match pits Canada against visiting Brazil. That’s a tie in which Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and Brazilian Joao Fonseca could play. Those who make progress will likely meet France in September. Other potential second-round clashes include Spain versus Serbia, Australia versus Britain and the United States versus the Czech Republic.
