The stage is set for an unforgettable year in table tennis, since the calendar 2026 takes shape

The Table Tennis Year of 2026 promises to be one for the history books, with a full calendar that celebrates both the rich heritage of the sport and the exciting future. From prestigious ITTF world championships to the dynamic WTT series, players and fans can expect twelve months of competition from world class.

A century of excellence

The year has an extraordinary significance since 2026 is a double centenary – 100 years since both the inaugural table tennis world championships were held in London and the establishment of the ITTF itself in 1926. In a suitable tribute to this historical milestone, the World Table Tennis Championships Final Turn back to London from 28 April to 10 MayBringing the sport around a circle to where it all started a century ago.

In this historic moment, the best players in the world will compete in the capital that first organized table tennis on the global stage, creating a bridge between the legendary past of sport and the bright future.

The ITTF calendar has different cornerstone events that will define the competitive landscape:

  • ITTF Continental Cups will take place at the beginning of February, with regional excellence
  • ITTF Singles World Cup 2026 arrives at the end of March/beginning of April
  • ITTF World Team Championships Finals London 2026 (April 28 – May 10) A historic centenary
  • ITTF World Masters Championships 2026 (June 5, 12 June) returns to the calendar after the record-breaking 2024 edition in Rome
  • ITTF Continental Championships rolled out in October
  • ITTF World Youth Championships 2026 offers a platform for the next generation at the end of November
  • ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2026 Caps of the year at the end of November/beginning of December

These ITTF events form the backbone of the international calendar and offer players crucial ranking points and the chance to represent their countries in the largest phases of sport.

In addition to the ITTF events, the year has an extensive network of international competitions via the WTT series. The calendar comprises the four prestigious Grand Smathes – Singapore, United States, Europe (Sweden) and China – in addition to an extensive selection of WTT champions, starder and competition events that are from January to December.

The appetite for the hosting of table tennis events continues to grow, with more than 30 hosting offers received from all over the world, which shows the growing global footprint of the sport and the enthusiasm of cities to be part of the Ecosystem of the Table Tennis.

While we are approaching this monumental year, the table tennis community can look forward to witnessing history in the making – both in honor of our centenary and when writing new chapters of Sporting Excellence.

The 2026 season represents a celebration of how far table tennis has come and a glimpse of where it is going. With locations of world class, passionate fans and the best players on the planet ready to compete, 2026 will be reminded for a year for a year.
