Country Music Legend Troy Cassar-Daley has written history on Tonight’s Queensland Music Awards (QMAS) who won his first publicly appreciated album of the year award for Between the Fires.
His deeply personal and emotional album exploring sadness and loss achieved the People’s Choice Award about heavy competition, including Amy Shark, Thelma Plum and the Driggs.
Cassar-Daley said the album was inspired by the heartbreaking death of his mother and the very real fear of almost losing his marriage.
Success with the QMAs of 2025 walked tonight in the family with Cassar-Daley’s daughter Jem who eliminated the indigenous prize for large container.

DJ and electronic musician Young Franco almost made a clean sweep from the Majors, won the Export Achievement Award as well as Song of the Year and the Electronic Award for Wake Up FT Master Peace.
Torresstrait Islander musician Christine Anu received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Anu became popular in 1995 with a cover release of the Warumpi band Song My Island Home.
Add to the family theme of the evening of the evening, Zipporah Corser-Anu, tributed to her mother by giving an extraordinary representation of the same song.
Industry ‘full of talent’
The QMAs are the annual search of the state for the new best music of Queensland and have music greats to the attention and celebrated, including Kate Miller-Heheidke, Bernard Fanning, Amy Shark, Violent Soho and Sheppard.

Kris Stewart, CEO of Qmusic, said that this year’s prizes gave music lovers the opportunity to have their control in addition to an expert judging panel.

At the popular mood, Big Pineapple Festival was named Festival of the Year, Sandstone Point Hotel Won Regional Venue of the Year and the Gastzlocatie of the QMA, the Fortitude Music Hall was elected Metro Venue of the Year.
