Under a memorandum of understanding that has just been signed between Proton and Touch ‘n GO, all variants of the Proton X50 facelift will be equipped with RFID in the production line, making drivers a different way to endure toll (remember the third-generation Myvi’s Build-in SmartTag?). “With other launches in our pipeline, Proton wants to expand the assembly of Touch ‘n Go RFID tags to other models to offer an improved level of convenience to our customers,” said Proton Edar deputy CEO Zhang Qiang.

“It’s about immediate satisfaction. You drive your new proton X50 from the showroom floor with all installed RFID, just like that. This is not only about smarter mobility; it’s about bringing real value and pleasure in daily journeys,” said Touch ‘n CEO Paba Sangarajoo.

Last month, the Proton X50 facelift is supplied in three variants that are priced between RM89,800 and RM113,300 (if you are one of the first 10,000 to book before 31 October, you will receive an RM4,000 discount, which effectively reduced the price class to RM85.800-109,300).
