2025 NFL Tight End Rankings Update: The movers have arrived

2025 NFL Tight End Rankings Update: The movers have arrived

6 minutes, 37 seconds Read

And we hope you have everything you want to take with you.

The dust is pleasure. We have had in season football to audition players. Roster cuts from 90 players to 53 have happened. There are still moving parts of NFL grilles, but that will be a constant for the coming months: the only difference will be frequency.

Deep cards are as good as they can be for the time being, on the way to week 1. I still have fantasy concepts on. I now feel that the information has changed sufficiently to make some important changes to my ranking for 2025. This is how I will attack the tight end position in my concepts.

This does not mean that, given the state of a concept and my selection, I will not change my strategy. I like balance on my selection and shit back and forth between ceiling and floor games. The way in which I am ranking is based on how I think about the flexibility of a player: higher ceiling, players with a higher floor, rise.

Current risers

Colston Loveland, Chi, at 36 to 16

The biggest shift, and I am not surprised.

When I ranked the position before the training camps opened, Loveland was number two on the depth card behind Cole KMet. Now that he is on top of the depth card for the bears in the position, I believe that he will see a higher Snap count, and I also believe they have some confidence in their upwill offensive line. I would expect Loveland to be the third or fourth option in the passing game behind DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and possibly d’I andre Swift. We will see how it is used in the red zone.

He could greatly reward the upward picks that I have seen in earlier concepts.

Harold Fannin, Cle, at 40 to 30

My intrigues for Fannin meant that he would have a place in my first top 40: I loved him like a hedge in the best ball against David Njoku. I also believed that the browns would arrive in Joe Flacco as their starting QB, at least early in the season.

Now they have continued from Kenny Pickett, which I did not expect.

I look at the broad recipients and run and think there is a chance for Fannin to have a meaningful passing game -even as a possible fifth option behind Jerry Jeudy, Njoku, Cedric Tillman and Jerome Ford. This is a team that should not have a shortage of 12 formations.

Tyler Warren, Ind, at 16 to 12

The more I see from this player, the more I love him. He is now in a starting position in 12 teams competitions.

I am still not in love with the passing game situation, but the fact that they want to move him everywhere in the formation is a great sign that he can make an important contribution.

It sounds like Josh Downs can be ready for week 1, so I will gladly take a look at their regular attack.

This is a player that I have reached if I wanted to take the top.

The production management, ten, 27 Tets, 27 TET and 23

I cannot be set up as my tight end, but I feel comfortable when I want to wait for a backup.

Someone except Calvin Ridley will have to fit in Nashville, and although Tyler Lockett is an option, he has shown the decline and can be solid but unpectacular from Jefferson or Elic Ayomanor.

Chig can be a solid up -like game where I will absorb the risk – he could be the second option in the passing game of the Titans.

Juwan Johnson, no, at 30 to 27

The competition for the role in this team is eroded to the point that the only other tight end on the active schedule is a smoke in the seventh round. I expect that that will change, but that will either be in the form of a practice team or someone who is not on the Roster who is not familiar with the team.

The fact that Johnson is so low is due to my esteem for the attacking unity of the team.

I stream the cardinals defense for week 1 in New Orleans in competitions where we still use team defenses.

Other risers: Tucker Kraft, GB (Te11, Jake Ferguson, Dal (13), Dalton Kidaid, Buff (19th)

New at the Top-40

Darren Waller, Mia, at 31

Mainly based on the fact that he is Darren Waller and on top of the Miami depth card for tight ends.

He is no longer arranged, is also based on the fact that he is Darren Waller, who is now 32 and whose last healthy season was in 2020. He did not play in 2024.

I would like to be too low for him.

AJ Barner, albeit, at 36 and Elia Arroyo, albeit, at 39

With Noah Fant Gone, there is a possibility that one of these two will come forward to be a more ranked tight end in 2025.

Barner has a respectable Rookie season under his belt and is the new sitting. He is 23 years old and currently on top of the depth card.

Arroyo is a great athlete. He is 22 years old and a rookie.

This will be a situation to look at, but I don’t think there will be enough tight end goals for two fantasy-relevant tight ends in this attack.

With Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Tory Horton, Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonet there too, there may not even be enough goals for one.

Current Falleros

Gift Otton, TB, at 20 to 32

I could very well be Bearish on a gift of Otton. He is occasionally proven that he is a top -colored end, which has a good relationship with his quarterback in a volume that passes an attack.

Seems like a recipe for a bump to, or at least holding, his ranking.

But he has already had a hamstring injury and now a leg injury.

My Spidey feeling is tingling.

I would be grateful to be wrong and bring him back to his earned place.

Jonnu Smith, Pit, at 12 to 18

I have always loved Jonnu Smith. It was a pleasure to see his ceiling in 2024.

I don’t trust the other Smith (if you don’t know who I’m talking about, count blessings).

There is a possibility that none of the broad recipients outside DK Metcalf (Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Ben SkowRonek, Scotty Miller) will have an impact this season. But I think Aaron Rodgers would turn to one of the running backs before Jonnu or Pat Freiermuth.

I believe that the best chance of great fantasy numbers for the tight ends would be the end zone goals.

At least enough that I now have each as mid-te 2 goals.

There are other rankings, but they are the result of shuffling from the risers.

From the table

Noah Fant, Cin (formerly in 32)

New address, who Dis?

Behind Mike Gesicki and Drew monster at the very end in Cincinnati. There are opportunities, but a lot has to be done to make him fantasy relevant.

Taysom Hill, no (formerly in 37)

The health update is not good. He may still be a best winner of the ball in the late season, but I am happy that others have that bet made.

Tommy Tremble (formerly 39)

A victim of gravity that was close to the bottom.

Luke Musgrave, GB
