- Head coach: Kyle Shanahan (ninth season)
- Pff projected profit total: 10.0
- 2024 Record: 6-11 (fourth in NFC West)
Greatest strength: attacking star force
When healthy – a large reservation of recent times – the 49 people have just as much offensive firepower as every NFL team. Brock Purdy is an above -average starting quarterback. Christian McCaffrey was the best run in the NFL in 2023. Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are a solid group of young broad recipients. George Kittle is the best tight end in the NFL, and the offensive line is a solid unity with Trent Williams and Dominick Puni. If McCaffrey, Aiyuk and Williams in particular are healthy, the 49 people still have a dangerous offensive unit.
Biggest weakness: Defensive line
In addition to Nick Bosa, San Francisco misses the proven line of defense depth. The Front Office has drawn up three such players to fill that void, but they will probably take some time before they are considered a remedy. Otherwise the team works together with veterans such as Yetur Gross-Matos, Kevin Givens and Jordan Elliott, who all struggled to perform last season, especially in Run Defense.
Quarterback Spotlight: Brock Purdy
- 2024 pff -grade: 82.4
- Main stat: 65.5 pff pass degree from week 7 (bound for 29th of 38 qualified QBs)
During the first six weeks of last season, Brock Purdy led all Quarterbacks in Pff General Number (88.2). While injuries to the star players of the 49ers took themselves and the foundation of the team crumbled, Purdy began to struggle. He only placed a 65.5 pff-passing figure from week 7 from week 7 while producing five large throws and 13 turnover plays. During that piece, Purdy’s inability to surrender a standard pass -rush was a problem. When he was not blinded from week 7 to week 17, Purdy took a 57.2 pff-passing figure on the seventh-most striking point in the NFL.
Offensive player: Te George Kittle
Kittle’s Elite skills as a recipient and a blocker make him the best tight end in the NFL on his way to the 2025 season. His 92.4 Pff received last season, all the tight ends. He also became second, behind Josh Oliver from Minnesota, with a 70.8 pff Run-Blocking figure. Kittle’s ability to perform in both facets enables Kyle Shanahan to use his multitude of schedules at all times.
Defensive player: LB Fred Warner
Warner continued to prove that he was the best Linebacker of the NFL in 2024. He was arranged second under qualified Linebackers, behind Zack Baun in Philadelphia, in Pff figure (89.2). 2024 was the third consecutive season in which Warner was in second place in PFF-Alengeele figure and his fifth straight-five finish. He was also the only Linebacker in the NFL last season to end with 80.0-plus pff figures in Run Defense and Message.

Rookie to watch: Edge Mykel Williams
The 49ers added several Run-Stoppers to their defense line in this year’s design, headed through the first round Pick Mykel Williams. The first Georgia Bulldog earned an excellent 86.6 Pff Run-Defense degree during his three seasons in Athens. He is a solid, versatile player who earned a negative figure at only 5.1% of his snaps with Run-Defense at the university. Williams is still developing like a pass Rusher, but the 49 people have his run-stop power more than whatever needed.
Fantasy Spotlight: Wr Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
Jennings spent his first three seasons as a broad recipient with only lock on an attack that does not use sets of three recipients as most teams. He seemed destined for the third place on the depth card of the 49 people after the team Ricky Pearsall added in the first round of the 2024 design. Instead, he had the opportunity to take over Deeo Samuel for one match in week 3, and he caught 11 passes for 175 Yards and three Touchdowns. He took over for Brandon Aiyuk for the second half of last season and on average 14.1 PPR points per game at the time.
The 49 people have passed from Samuel, who should give Jennings a permanent place in the starting attack. His fantasy value has a wide range of results, depending on the health of Aiyuk, the ability of Pearsall to improve and whether he can build on what he achieved last season.
Best bet: QB Brock Purdy to go more than 3,850 passing yards (-110)
As we have emphasized in our prediction of potential passing leaders for 2025, Purdy stands in line for a large year. The challenge here is to find where you can enter the market for his passing Yardage line. Given its 4,165-yard projection, gamblers can play safely with its standard line on 3,850 (-110) or focus on other milestones such as 4,000 yards (+115) and even the NFL-Lead (+1300).
Bottom Line
A return to full health and a relatively simple schedule can bring the 49 people back to the late season. However, their defense is extremely young, especially in advance, and they will have to answer questions in the early season about the health of their running backs and broad recipients.
