In a very close do or die game for both teams, the Borgerhou winters ended up as the victor when they defeated the Durne Spartans in a victory of the coming. Spartans wasted a 2-0 lead and eventually the squirrels scored the go-ahead run at the top of the ninth.
Borgerhout Squirrels 3 – 2 Deurne Spartans
In what could be called a pitching -duel, Borgerhou -Zoorns had a big chance to open the score. In the Fristing inning. Back-to-back field errors through the short stop of Durne, allowed two runners on the base that spent in score position on 4-3 groundout by Sam Boermans. Unfortunately for the squirrels they could not cash in because Matthias Group fell to the right field.
Spartans in turn made use of his first chance. Raxon Martinez Miranda made up for the two mistakes he committed in the first half of the first inning when he hit a double left field, went to third place in a beam and scored on the groundout of Alexis Marquez.
In the second half of the second inning, Durne expanded his lead with a run when Johaniner Alfonso Arguizzones Ocanto scored on a failed Pickoff attempt at first base.
But in the first half of the third inning, Borgout -Zoorns cut the lead of Spartans in two. After Nick Vanthillo had taken a walk, he went on a stolen base and scored on Sam Boermans’ single through the left.
Durne Spartans had a big chance to break open the score while it loaded the bases in the fifth inning, but they could not cash in when Kelvin Delgado piece for the final from the inning.
In the first half of the sixth inning, Squirrels finally set the game in two when it loaded the bases with one. A groundout to third through Sander Desaedeleer rode in Naoki Kammara for the game type Run.
Wyatt Lankford was replaced in the second half of the eighth inning. He recorded two fast outs, but then allowed two consecutive singles. His successor, Donald Goodes started with an HBP to load the bases, but restored by blowing Joey Lambert for the final from the inning.
Sander Desaedeleer scored the winning run for Borgerhout when he hit a lead -off single, was transferred by Nick Vanthillo and scored on the single by Cedric Vandenspelele to midfield.
Donald Goodes earned the victory. In 1.1 innings he did not give up and threw two out. Durne trusted Anderson Denny Gerdel Nieto while playing a complete game. But the confidence in him to throw 127 throws was not good because he gave up the game-winning run to squirrels. He allowed three points (two earned) on ten hits and a walk, while he closes twelve (!).
Naoki Kambara was the best batter for the Borgerhou -korns, while he went 3 to 4 with a score.
Thanks to this victory, Borgout is against Brasschaat Braves in the final of tomorrow.
