2024-25 Premier League: Week 37-West Ham vs Nottingham Forest

2 minutes, 12 seconds Read

West Ham organizes Top-Five Nottingham Forest in a huge Premier League collision.

If Everton loses during the kick-off of lunch at home in Southampton, the victory West Ham would lift in the table until the 13th.

Forest remains seventh, regardless of the result, but the defeat would put an end to their hope for the qualification of the Champions League and a top five finish.

Team news

West Ham has no worries for new injuries to report after their 2-0 win at Manchester United.

Crysencio Summerville (Hamstring) and Mikhail Antonio (Been) remain excluded.

Forest will be without Taiwo Awoniyi after he had sustained a torn intestine in their 2-2 draw in Leicester last weekend.

Murillo (Hamstring) is a doubt, but Callum Hudson-Odoi (Hamstring) and Eric da Silva Moreira (knock) remain absent.

When is the kick -off?

West Ham host forest in London Stadium on Sunday, May 18 at 2.15 pm BST, Live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Scale

  • West Ham has won two of their last five meetings against Forest (W2, L3).
  • Forest has only won one of their six Premier League visits to West Ham (W1, L5).
  • Callum Hudson-Odoi has scored in each of the last two games of Forest against West Ham (W2).
  • Jarrod Bowen scored in three of the last four games of West Ham.
  • Anthony Elanga has created more assists this season than any other forest player (10).

Prediction

Despite their inconsistent form, West Ham did not play too badly in their last two games and was clinically in their victory with Man Utd, who will give them confidence to bring their last home game, where they have little pressure in terms of competition position to play for.

In the meantime, Forest has to win realistic to give itself the best possible chance on a top-five finish that goes into the last day, because a draw would let them beat Chelsea and hope that Aston Villa loses at Manchester United, which is a difficult question.

The tricky trees of Nuno Espirito Santo, however, looked more energetic against Leicester with a clinical comeback to lead 2-1 before they finally draw, albeit due to two small marking errors for both goals of the foxes, so a cleaner defense position is needed here, since only the victory will really do.

West Ham, however, is the Bogey of Forest Road and the hammers have little pressure plus improved versions that come in this game, so I expect that this will be quite close, but there is no better time for visitors to break their hammers.

Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Nottingham Forest
