Brighton wants to increase their chances of a top-eight finish in a Premier League meeting against Liverpool.
At least one point would go to the eighth in the table and put their fate in their own hands on the last day, although the European qualification is over and need Chelsea to end the seventh plus UEFA Conference League.
Liverpool is already champions, regardless of the result.
Team news
Lewis Dunk is available for Brighton after missing the victory of the Seagulls at Wolves last weekend with a hamstring injury.
Joel Veltman was also absent in that game because of a knock, but is available for selection.
Joao Pedro is available after he had completed his suspension of three games, because he was in Brentford in Brentford last month in their defeat in Brentford.
Georginio Rutter (ankle), Ferdi Kadioglu (Teen), Solly March (Knee) and James Milner (Hamstring) remain offside.
Liverpool has no worries for new injuries to report after their 2-2 draw against Arsenal, with only Joe Gomez (Hamstring) excluded.
When is the kick -off?
Brighton host Liverpool at Amex Stadium on Monday 19 May at 8 p.m. BST, Live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Scale
- Brighton has won one of their last seven league matches against Liverpool (W1, D3, L3).
- Liverpool has only lost one of their last six trips to Brighton (W4, D2, L1).
- Mohamed Salah has scored four goals in the last three league meetings of Liverpool against Brighton (W2, D1).
- Brighton is looking for successive clean sheets in the competition for the first time since February 2025.
- Liverpool tries to prevent suffering from successive defeats for the first time since March – April 2023.
Prediction
Although every prospect of European football is over, Brighton simply has to take advantage of the loss of Brentford against Fulham to put at least eighth in his own hands and to play clinically as at Wolves, but just as resilient defensive because this will not be an easy game against TOP opentopeest.
However, Liverpool is currently able to experiment and mix their line-ups, such as saw in their loss of two days ago, but they bounced back with a clinical first half against Arsenal before defensive errors allowed the Gunners to grab a point.
I find it difficult to predict how this could play in view of the freedom of Liverpool to do what they want in this game without any pressure, but if Brighton can use the loss of Brentford as a motivation to chase control of the eighth that goes into the last day, they can simply cam.
Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Liverpool
