Brett Berard played 35 games with the Rangers last season, which is more than 40% of their matches. It felt like much less looking for Berard, but perhaps that is because last year was one of those years that you would like to forget. Yet Berard was present for a good part of the season and he placed a line of 6-4-10 while mainly played for six minutes. Berard made an immediate impression, noted a goal and an assist in his first two games before the train wreck in November/December refueled everyone’s production.
Berard’s ice age was usually with Sam Carrick (166 minutes) and a Rotating cavalry from other players Under 100 minutes toi – Chris Kreider, Cuylle, Mika Zibanejad, Filip Chytil, Matt Rempe and Vincent Trocheck will. Berard showed flashes of his speed and attacking skills and separated from Brennan Othmann as an impact forward in the NHL.
Berard is known as an annoying prospect with some middle -six offensive benefit. He showed a good amount of that power during his 35 games, but like many others, his performance was overshadowed and influenced by the overall team that smelled around him. His general statistics were not great, but he did not play enough 5V5 minutes for them to be a valuable tool to evaluate his game. Throw in the 2024-2025 Rangers * gestures wild * and you have an incomplete analysis, at least from the position of the statistics.
What we do know is that Brett Berard was Feisty when he was on the ice and caused a good amount of disturbance of the forechack. He was also one of the only (somewhat) consistent pre -checkers in the team, something new coach Mike Sullivan will absolutely love. Berard is certainly the type of Sully player.
