2025 Topps Update is also an exciting release every year because it not only has so much great Rookie cards, but it also brings 40 Rookie debut cards from the best rookies from the entire season. That means that you can get first -year cards from players from Topps Series 1, such as James Wood And Jacob Wilsonand Topps Series 2, Like Roki Sasaki!

Amazingly, there are 153 players with Rookie cards in the 2025 tops update set, which must be a kind of record! But we will only mention the Top 13 Rookie cards to collect.
1. Nick Kurtz, 1B, Athletics (22)
The fourth choice in the MLB design of 2024 leads all the Rookies with a war of 5.4 (due to a long shot), there is no doubt that Kurtz is your 2025 American League Rookie of the year. He brings strength together with a great stroke eye, which is music to collect the ears of collector.
Even more impressive is the fact that only two players (Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani) posted a higher Ops than Kurtz’s 1.002!
2. Marcelo Mayer, SS/3B, Boston Red Sox (22)
One of the best young strikers in the game, the season of Mayer was demolished in June by wrist surgery, but the hope of Boston will be attached to his bat in the coming years, together with Roman Anthony. The fourth overall choice in 2021, Mayer only had 10 RBI in 44 games in the Majors in 2025. Unfortunately, the injuries-less season has become a recurring trend in the career of Mayer, because he has played no more than 100 games in a season. He is young, he is excellent defensively, and the Red Sox will probably get him a starting place next season with both SS Trevor Story and 3B Alex Bregman who may be free agents of this season.
3. Drake Baldwin, C, Atlanta Braves (24)
The favorite to take home the 2025 National League Rookie of the Year Award, Baldwin turned out to be a plus for the Braves both offensive and defensive and catcher. Although catchers are not super gatherable, Baldwin also sees time with designated Hitter – so good are bat. If the Braves continue from Sean Murphy, Baldwin is the reason why and collectors must take a note.
4. Horton, SP, Chicago Cubs (24)
Horton finished with a 2.67 ERA in 23 games, but he placed a great 1.03 ERA to lead starting pitchers in the second half. He was the chances of winning the NL Roy Award 2025 in August, in a season in which many young national Leaguers were favorites at one point. However, a broken rib kept him from the start of the NL play -offs.
5. Matt Shaw, 3B, Chicago Cubs (23)
One of the stars that came from spring training, Shaw initially struggled in the Majors before he was returned to the minors. But something clicked in the second half of the season, and he hit 11 home runs and knocked in 29 RBI, with a stroke average of .258. Good things are on the horizon for Shaw, making his 2025 Topps Rookie Card a nice pick -up. (Don’t forget that he was also one of them to get a series 2 SP card!)
6. Luke Keaschall, 2B, Minnesota Twins (23)
A broken arm had put Keaschall offside in the middle season for three months and the thumb operation ended his 2025 season. When he played, he hit .302 with 14 steals and 18 extra basehits in 49 games. The twins reload, which means that Keaschall will be leaning heavily next year, making his Rookie card a nice attraction this year.
7. Cam Smith, van, Houston Astros (22)
Smith was the big name to land in Houston in the Kyle Tucker trade with the Chicago Cubs. While Tucker had a great season in Wigleyville, Smith struggled in the Majors in his first full season. After a strong spring, the first round Pick in last year’s MLB design ended the year in a platoon situation. 8. Chandler Simpson, van, Tampa Bay Rays (24)
It is difficult to be enthusiastic about a player who has only reached one home run in his professional career, but Simpson is a Get-You-Excited Kinda player. He gets a full season to steal 100 bases next year and becomes the first baseball player to do so since Vince Coleman in 1987. Simpson stole 44 bags this year in 109 competitions with Tampa Bay, and he hit close to .300. In the coming years, its high contact/fast speed serves as a great lead-off fitting for the rays.
9. Daylen Lile, Van, Washington Nationals (22)
This choice is a really high ceiling/low floor a kind of choice! Lile was a second round pick in 2021 who lost his first professional season because of the operation of Tommy John, and when he returned, he was considered a low-pop/high-speed type player, with serious defensive shortcomings. Moreover, the Nats had 19 young outfielders in their ranks to fight for three places (two places considered already owned by James Wood and Dylan Crews). Then Lile gets a chance! He exploded in the past month and hit .391 with 6 hours, 7 triples and a 1,212 Ops, won NL Rookie of the month of September – and NL Player of the Month! Even if he turns out to be the 2025 version of Lawrence Butler, who followed a surprising 2024 with just an OK 2025, his Rookie card is worth following.
10. Agustín Ramírez, C, Miami Marlins (24)
Another great backstop whose rookie card falls in our 2025 tops -updated rounds, Ramirez is someone to watch. He is the first Rookie -catcher to touch at least 20 home runs and steals at least 10 bases! Ramirez is a bit hidden in South Florida and is an interesting pick -up for collectors, because his rough power, consistent bat and strong exit speeds at one point transfer a star for a star for someone else’s team!
11. Kristian Campbell, 2B, Boston Red Sox (Age 23)
Campbell was the Al -smokie of the month in April and then quickly dropped out – which led to a past from the mid -season back to the minors. The Red Sox has a great, young core, and although Campbell is part of it, he will not be the headliner, with Roman Anthony, Franklin Arias and Marcelo Mayer who wear red socks.
12. Robert Hassell III, or, Washington Nationals (24)
A better prospect than a Rookie, RH3 has no bat to justify huge map investments, but he could eventually be traded from Washington to start elsewhere. Yet he is a better defense than attack.
13. Mick Abel, SP, Minnesota Twins (24)
The former First-Rounder for Philly was part of the Jhoan Duran trade with Minnesota this summer. Although his statistics are nothing to become overly enthusiastic about, he finished the year that the Phillies defeated with a 6-after/9-K performance. Yet the twins are not expected to be great – and also not Abel.
14. Max Muncy, 3B, Athletics (23)
Don’t let this Max Muncy confused with the Max Muncy of the Dodgers … Despite the similar names, the same birthdays and the fact that the A has drawn up both. The Rookie Muncy has some pop (9 hours in 63 games), but unfortunately he does not make enough contact.
15. Moisés Ballesteros, DH, Chicago Cubs (21)
This stocky backstop (what’s with all the young catchers on this list?) Released the Majors because of his bat, which is a huge deal when it comes to prospects of the catcher. His first home run in the Majors landed in the hands of Anthony Rizzo, who was in the stands on the day the Cubs honored him (Rizzo dropped the ball). The stock of the Venezuelan could rise even higher with a play -off production.
