If you wonder what Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes did it on Monday evening, it is not difficult to find the answer. Just go to his X account, where he fired tweets over the softball team of his Alma Mater.
The 12th in the NCAA tournament, Texas Tech, still lives in the very first Women’s College World Series and hit his ticket to the championship podium by beating Oklahoma in Walk-Off Mode, the end of the Sooners’ Pursuit from a fifth consecutive Halloic Championship and the greatest Halloon.
The Sooners finally scored from Texas Tech Ace Nijaree Canady in the first half of the seventh inning when Abigale Dayton connected to an offer and sent it clearly over the right field fence for a two-run Homer. That tied up the game and set the scene for the Red Raiders to achieve the victory in a dramatic way.
Mihyia Davis came to base with a single to Ondiep Midfield and then moved to the third after her teammate Hailey Toney doubled to deep left. Lauren Allred then hit a ball that just deep enough in the outfield loft that gave Davis the time to beat a throw and come home safely for the game-winning run.
And so the Texas Tech Firsts season continues. They won their first Big 12 title, reached the Super Regionals for the first time, first appeared in the World Series and are now at the point of their first national championship after beating second placed Oklahoma, 3-2.
The Sooners of Patty Gasso had won four titles of the Straight World Series, a performance that was unparalleled by another program in Division I. A fifth consecutive title would have been extraterrestrial and incredibly impressive, but the Red Raiders extinguish every flickering of hope.
Mahomes was easily one of the most excited Texas Tech fans. Here is one of the various festive tweets he has posted:
While Canady In the first place of the seventh gave up the 11th she allowed this season this season in 226 innings work is, they are a big reason why Texas Tech is two victories of a national championship. Her great game took place on Monday evening, because she only walked one earlier and only got five hits in seven innings work while she hit eight batters.
In the season Canady came in this matchup that led all division I softball in victories (32), ERA (0.86) and hits allowed per seven innings (3.61). She is also seventh in Strikeouts per seven innings (9.5), seventh in Shutouts (7) and fourth in Strikeout-to-Walk Ratio (6.88). This season she has also been an asset to the album with 11 home runs, 34 RBI and an impact average of .306.
Mahomes was an important part of her recruitment to Lubbock when Canady was out of Stanford in the transfer portal in the transfer portal. The former Texas Tech Quarterback – now with three Super Bowl trophies and two NFL MVP prices to his name – interrupted his vacation in Italy last summer to call Canady in an attempt to swear to Texas Tech.
“Patrick Mahomes, I have his number, I can reach him,” Canady told ESPN. “So I think that is cool. Last July we were lunch and had a beautiful view of the entire football stadium. Someone told me, send a photo to Patrick to see if he is responding. He is preparing for the season and then I think he will return to me within 10 minutes.”
Of course, a $ 1,050,024 zero deal from the Texas Tech collective was probably a large sales argument to allow Canady to join the Red Raiders, but having one of the best Quarterbacks of all time on speed Dial is also a nice advantage.
Canady has now achieved victories in 11 consecutive performances, which has not been losing since 2 May. The investment of Texas Tech in her continues to bear fruit.
On Wednesday at 8 p.m. the Red Raiders will be confronted with former Big 12 -rival Texas in the championship series. It marks the first time in 21 years that there has been an intrastate matchup in this phase of the tournament – not since Cal and UCLA met in 2003. Mahomes is one of the many who will root for Canady and the Red Raiders who come at the top of Oklahoma City.
