Pyx Health, which offers a mobile platform to tackle loneliness and social isolation within the health care and social services sector, has taken over a technically engaged food delivery company Farmboxrx.
The Pyx Health, based in Arizona, offers a mentor-driven care navigation platform that focuses on non-medical issues, such as loneliness and other support needs in vulnerable populations.
The company offers research navigation, care coordination and support for virtual care. It works with Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care organizations and community health plans.
FarmBoxrx cooperates with care providers to offer Medicare and Medicaid members access to fresh products, pantry -less and healthy cooking packages through their insurance and member benefits.
The acquisition was made possible thanks to an investment of $ 47.5 million in PYX Health of S2G investments in collaboration with TT Capital Partners.
The companies say that combined platforms can help tackle food insecurity and health plans to stimulate specific behavior, such as completing health reviews and planning preventive care visits.
“A person’s zip code or income should never determine the status of their health, but all too often it was. I stood for the same challenge years ago as a single mother who lived in food vouchers and medicaid,” said Ashley Tyrner-Dolce, CEO and founder of FarmBoxrx, said MobiHealthNews in an e -mail.
“When I founded Farmboxrx with the desire to close the openness of health care arising from the unfulfilled social needs that I encountered earlier in my own life, I was determined to help as many people as possible. Now I am convinced that Pyx Health will perform our shared mission and reach even more people in need.”
