A replacement teacher in Ohio is accused of offering a student of $ 2,000 to kill her alienated husband before the teen’s mother caught the wind of the plot of the murder and the warned authorities.

Stephanie Demetrius, 44, was arrested on Wednesday and accused of first -degree conspiracy for the offer to a boy at the Academy for Urban Scholars High School in Columbus, WSYX reported.

Demetrius approached a student at the school on March 26 and offered $ 2,000 to carry out the murder of her soon ex-husband. The student initially received $ 250 in cash paid as a down payment.

“This specific teacher tried to take care of this young person to commit a murder,” Columbus Division of Police SGT. James Fuqua told WSYX.

The plan was thwarted when the mother of the student discovered texts on her son’s phone between him and Demetrius. The teenager’s mother then reported the incident to the police.

“Without their help, some of them may not have come to light,” said Fuqua. “This was a situation where a parent was able to conquer things on the phone of this young person and to contact authorities.”

In a recorded phone call between the student and Demetrius, the replacement teacher told the student that he would receive the rest of the payment and said that she was an extra “15”

The replacement teacher also gave the student information about when her children would be outside the house, so that he could kill her alienated husband who worked from home, according to court reports, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

“When asked whether the neighbors would hear the gunfire, she advised that they do not care about the neighbors,” said Court Records, the outlet.

Demetrius and her husband have been married since 2004, but went through a divorce procedure, according to judicial data.

She appeared on Thursday morning in Franklin County Municipal Court, in which her public defender denied the allegations and criticized them as a manufacture.

Public Prosecution Service Parker Schwartz said that the alienated husband of Demetrius had received a protection order against her. Schwartz also noted that Demetrius had shown ‘possessive and controlling behavior’, had psychological problems and had previously made murderous threats.

Demetrius was released on a bond of $ 150,000 and is excluded from any contact with her alienated husband or the student. She is back in court on April 11.
