The two men in question are Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave. Two experienced interior pass Rushers with a reputation before getting after the quarterback were exactly what Minnesota needed to stimulate his defense. Both men experienced injury problems in 2024 that led to down years, which in turn improved their availability.

Jonathan Allen
The younger of the two, all should have a tread on the tires – hence the longer contract. He also finished healthy last season, so his higher ranking is to be expected. All is a double pro-bowler and has been one of the best interior defenders in the competition in recent years, but what will the Vikings come in 2025? This is what Pff had to say:
Allen comes there in age, now 30 years old, and will settle with a new team in 2025. But he should still be a strong veteran for the vikings.
His 56.0 pff general figure last season was a career low, but he also earned a 68.5 pff pass-rush grade and is only two years away from back-to-back single-season figures in the 80.0 range.
It was a downward season for all last year, but if he can stay healthy, he is still young enough to recapture form close to his best. That is what everyone will hope for in Minnesota. I expect that this season he is one of the top players of the Vikings.
Javon Hargrave
Hargrave moved through the competition during his nine -year career. Spending time in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, San Francisco and now Minnesota – possibly his last stop. Before last year’s very short season, Hargrave was voted for two of the previous three Pro Bowls with 25.5 bags during that period. This is what Pff had to say:
Just like Jonathan Allen, Hargrave will be doing new threads this season. Also similar to all, he comes from a career-bear 60.6 pff general figure. But his 73.3 Pff Pass-Rush degree indicates hopefully that there is still an impact role for him to play on the line of defense of the Vikings. Hargrave registered Pff Passrush figures above 82.0 in each of the previous four seasons.
The success of Hargrave in Minnesota will largely depend on his role. If everything went well with the rehabilitation of his injury, there would still be enough juice in Hargrave’s Passrush repertoire.
