More than 100 tons of beef is the subject of an urgent national recall after wood fragments in the meat have been detected.
Hormel Foods, which is based from Minnesota and the maker of a variety of well -known brands, including Spam and Old Smokehouse, pulls cans from his Dinty Moore Beef Stew.
The FDA warns that “hard or sharp foreign objects in food can cause traumatic injury, including crack and perforation of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach and intestine, as well as damage to the teeth and gums.”
To date, three consumers have submitted complaints to the food giant, which activates the decision to recall the compromised product.
The recall applies to Tins by Dinty Moore Beef Stew with Best Teb 2028 and Lot Code T02045 printed on the label.
The lottery can have an extra number at the end. The cans also wear ‘EST 199G’ in the establishment of the location.
These items were sent nationally to retailocations.

The food safety and inspection service (FSIS) warns that the product should not be consumed.
It adds that everyone who looks at the stew has, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
Although small pieces of strange materials can go through the gastrointestinal tract without complications, large or irregular fragments can lead to a number of problems.
These complications can include stifling, throat cutters, ulceration, holes in the digestive tract or even death.
It is unclear how large the fragments of wood are in the Dinty Moore Beef Stew.
Wood can infect food products in different ways.
In some cases, the use of wooden pallets during transport and storage can lead to contamination, as well as the use of wooden tools or equipment in food processing.
So far there have been no confirmed reports of injury by consuming the product.
In the meantime, Hormel Foods emphasizes that no other products are affected among his brands.
