After protesting against farmers claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had become “angry” during a meeting, CM Mann said on Tuesday that he canceled the meeting because the farmers wanted to continue their protest in the midst of the conversations. The main minister also expressed his concern about the frequent protests and blockages by farmers in the state who say that these protests, such as “Rail Roko” and “Sadak Roko”, cause significant economic losses for the state.
CM Mann also warned that he is not afraid to take action, but as the custodian of 3.5 crore people, he must consider everyone’s interests.
“I told Farmers that you hold ‘Rail Roko’ every day, ‘Sadak Roko’ protest … This causes enormous losses for Punjab. The state is confronted with economic losses. Punjab becomes a state of ‘Dharna’. Don’t take my gentleness to think that I am not taking action … I am a custodian of 3.5 crore people. I have to take care of everyone … In the meeting I asked them to the protest the next day (on March 5), and they said it would continue. So I told them why you let me sit for an hour? … I stood up and left … I told them that I did not call the meeting for fear, I also met them earlier, that I am your friend … But if you tell me that Morcha would continue with the meeting, I cancel the meeting and you can continue with the Morcha, ‘Mann against reporters.

Boer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal described Chief Minister Mann as unusually angry and noted that he had never seen such an outburst, even in high -level negotiations.
“The meeting was well underway and we came across different issues. After we had reached an agreement on the eighth issue, the CM said he wanted to leave because of the appointment of a doctor. Then he asked about our plans before March 5. He said we’re having conversations; Why do you still want to continue with the protest? He became very angry and left the meeting with the text ‘Do what you want to do’ … I have had negotiations at the premier’s level, but have never seen a leader so angry. We will come to Chandigarh (on March 5), “he said.
Boer leader Raminder Patila said this is not how a prime minister should behave.
“We had a memorandum of 18 demands, and we had reached the 8th point when he immediately asked us not to protest on March 5. If he will not listen to our requirements, we have the right to make ourselves heard. If he thinks things will end alone by meeting, that is not the case. The behavior that was displayed by the CM was condemning. He left the meeting halfway. This should not be how a cm should behave. We come back on March 5 and force the CM to sit with us … We wanted thorough discussions, and we will not accept it if he tries to limit or dictate our discussions … He would have invited us to this meeting … We will have an indefinite protest, “said Patila.
