Steve Smith hurt his little finger on his right hand during day 3 of the final of the World Test Championship against South Africa. He had to leave the field immediately and was replaced by Sam Konstas.
The prominent Batsman of Australia, Steve Smith, had to leave the field after he had wounded his finger on the third day of their WTC -Laatste match against South Africa on Lord’s on Friday. Smith sustained an injury while trying to catch the ball. Placed close to slip with a helmet, he missed a lead of the South Africa captain Temba Bavuma by Pacer Mitchell Starc, which allowed Bavuma to stay on the fold with just two runs at that time.
The 36-year-old was replaced by the young opening batsman Sam Konstas on the field. After a few overs, however, Konstas also required medical help and was replaced by Matt Kuhnemann.

It is important that Smith was about 154 meters from the stumps and had little time to respond before the injury sustained. He lost his balance while he left him when the ball approached from the right. He quickly fell on the ground of pain before he left the field. Captain Bavuma in South Africa was 2 points when Smith dropped the catch.
On tea on the third day of the WTC final, South Africa concluded their second innings on 94/2, with Aiden Markram (49*) and skipper Temba Bavuma (11*) at the Fold, where the Proteas De Hoop remained alive in the challenging run. The couple had formed a 24-run partnership for the third Wicket.
South Africa lost an early wicket when Ryan Rickelton was fired for only 6 points in the third, while Wian Mulder could not benefit from his start and was 27 points out. Mitchell Starc claimed both wickets for his team.
Since South Africa required 188 runs to secure their first WTC title, Australia needs eight wickets to close the game.
