A mother of two who developed organ damage after the daily drinking of various cans of Red Bull has warned to be ‘addicted’ to the energy drinks.
Lucy Parker, 35, from Perth in Australia, initially booked for a medical scan to investigate pain she had had in her thighs.
Although the cause of this was revealed as a cyst of the ovaries, the scan also revealed signs of serious damage to its liver.
Images revealed that the vital organ had an extreme structure of fat that-as they remain to organ failure and an increased risk of cancer.
Mrs. Parker, who is a healthy weight, blamed her habit of drinking three red bulls a day, equal to consuming 81 g sugar per day (the equivalent of almost two and a half -mars -bars), for the problem.
Since then she has completely stopped the energy drinks and said that follow -up scans have shown signs that her liver is recovering.
The creative director of a marketing agency admitted that she had been ‘addicted’ to Red Bull.
“If I knew I didn’t have Red Bull in the fridge before I went to bed, I would drive outside to get one or find out how I could get one first thing in the morning,” she said.
Lucy Parker, 35, from Perth in Australia, blamed her three times a day Red Bull habit, equal to consuming 81 g sugar per day, for damage to hidden organ
‘I had 81 grams of sugar a day in those drinks alone.
“If you look at it on a bowl, there is no way to eat so much sugar, it would make you sick.”
The NHS recommends that adults must have less than 30 g of sugar per day, which means that Mrs. Parker consumed the recommended maximum almost triple.
She added that even her daughters had noticed her dependence on the popular energy drink.
“Even my two children on Mother’s Day at school when they had to write things about their mother, they said,” My mother’s favorite drink is Red Bull, “she said.
Remembering the moment that doctors gave her the scan results earlier this year, Mrs. Parker said that it was a mixture of relief followed by Shock.
“Doctors were” this is what is being shown, a cyst on your ovary that we keep an eye on, but that’s not what we are worried about, “she said.
“They told me:” There is a lot of fat around your liver “.

Medici discovered that her liver had an extreme structure of toxic fat that and they transfer to organ failure and an increased risk of cancer

Symptoms of liver fat is difficult to notice in the beginning, other than fatigue. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as swelling, red palms and jaundice appear
“They said it is actually where fat builds around the liver and it is unable to work as well as it should be.”
Although this toxic structure of fat can be caused by drinking large amounts of alcohol, tests later revealed that its condition was specifically non-alcoholic liver fat.
This is a similar condition that is usually seen in people with overweight or obese, especially those with a lot of fat around their waist.
At an early stage it does not cause noticeable symptoms, but doctors can detect it during scans that are performed for other reasons, as in the case of MS Parker.
If the disease is left, the liver causes the liver to cause more and more damage due to inflammation, which leads to internal scars of the organ, making it less effective.
Since the liver, which helps with digestion and filtering away toxins, close, patients can start with dull painful pain in their abdomen, extreme fatigue, weight loss and weakness.
In the most serious stage, this damage becomes permanent and the body will fail and run a high risk of developing tumors.
Mrs. Parker said that when they were diagnosed, she immediately stopped drinking Red Bull.

Energy drinks have towering levels of ingredients that have powerful effects on the body. Some brands can have up to 160 mg of caffeine, almost tripled from an immediate coffee, almost 10 times the level of taurine, an amino acid that is often found in meat, fish and eggs, as a salmon fillet and the same amount of sugar as a greasy cola as a thick cola as a big coke like a full cokes
And a subsequent scan that was held six weeks later showed that this already showed results.
Mrs. Parker said, “My doctor said:” Whatever you did between the last session and now works “.
“I just said:” I stopped drinking the Red Bull “.
“She said I had to keep doing that and in six months,” we will hopefully be the other way around. ‘
Mrs. Parker said that she had no ‘no symptoms’ before her diagnosis and encouraged others with a similar love for energy drinks to be checked.
“I had no pain, nothing,” she said.
“If someone who reads this drinks the same amount of energy drinks for that period, I would like to imagine they get a blood test.”
She added that this was in particular the case for fellow people with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that may use energy drinks to ‘calm down’.

Drinks such as Red Bull, Prime and Monster can have up to 150 mg caffeine. For comparison, a cup of coffee of 250 ml has approximately 90 mg
“If you have ADHD, it just does the opposite of what it would do for a neurotypic person,” she said.
“It calms me … it puts everything into control and helps me get through the day.”
Official data show that 345 British died of non-alcoholic liver fat in 2023, a slight increase compared to the year 323, where experts notes that the percentage had risen considerably since the COVID pandemic.
The warning from Mrs. Parker comes after the government announced plans last year to prohibit energy drinks under the age of 16 due to ensuring that they harm the health of young people.
Many supermarket chains throughout the country already have a voluntary ban on selling the products to minors.
But Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said that his party would make this mandatory in the run -up to the general elections in 2024.
Drinks such as Red Bull, Prime and Monster can have up to 150 mg caffeine, almost double those of a black coffee.
With some brands available for only 25p a can, many of the energy boosters can be cheaper than bottled water and are a popular pick-me-up among young people.
