Gary Lineker presented his last game ever of the day after leaving the BBC last weekend, but a new report has now claimed that one of his last interviews had gone brutally
The BBC decided to cancel what Gary Lineker’s last game of the day interview would have been in the show shortly before his farewell, it came to the fore.
Lineker, 64, curved from the iconic highlight show last weekend after 25 years at the helm. His exit of the company came shortly after the former star of England had an apology for the sharing of an anti -Semitic function on social media, which means that he and the BBC are in accordance with an agreement to separate this year instead of after the 2026 world cup.
And it has now emerged, via SunThe last interview of Die Lineker in his role – which would be with Mohamed Salah, the Talisman of Liverpool – was exhausted in the short term.
The report speculates that the relocation may have been done by the BBC in the midst of ensuring that Lineker would say ‘something controversial about Gaza’ during his chat with Salah.
A source confirmed to the publication that the interview would be played on the game of the day and football focus during the weekend of Lineker’s last show before Alex Kay-Jelski, the director of sport of BBC, pulled the plug.

They added: “It was canceled out of nowhere. Some people think they didn’t want Gary and Mo to talk about Gaza.
“Salah has expressed himself in his support for Palestinians who live in Gaza and Gary also made his feelings clear. It felt like it was talking naturally.
“It seems that they have taught it instead of possible editorial problems. They would only have overcome one storm, so it would be another to have been a nightmare.”
The BBC, however, said about the decision: “The interview was canceled because it was planned to air after Gary’s last game of the day. It would be wrong to suggest something else.”
Lineker said an emotional farewell to viewers at the end of his last show in the HotSeat and said: “Let me take this opportunity to thank all other experts with whom I have had the pleasure of working with, you have made my work so much easier.
“Also a huge thanks to those you don’t see at home: the work that is about this iconic show is a huge team effort. From the editors to the analysis team, from the commentators to the floor managers, from the producers to the camera managers, from the pass to the subs, thank you all, you are the very best.
“Before I got my football career, everyone else did the hard work and I got the compliments. It was an absolute privilege to organize the game of the day for a quarter of a century. It has been completely joyful. I would like to wish Gabby, Mark and Kelly if they are in this chair – the program is in the best of hands.
“And my last thank you goes to all of you. Thank you for watching. Thanks for all your love and support over the years. It has been so special – and I am sorry that your team was always the last. Time to say goodbye.
