Aussie UFC legend Alex Volkanovski has heated the hearts of many Footy fans after having given Royal $ 10,000 to the NRLW program of St George Illawarra.
Volkanovski, 36, has also promised to help the club’s wrestling program among the new women’s coach Nathan Cross.
“It’s just something I wanted to do. The sport is growing so much in this region, “Volkanovski said News Corp.
‘If you can invest in sport growth and create more opportunities, it will get better.
“If there is some money, I can donate to help them be professional athletes, and perhaps give those opportunities – whether it’s strength and conditioning, physios, doctors … what they need to help that process.”
Volkanovski – a father of three girls – pointed to the success of the Matildas as proof that women’s sport in Australia can thrive as the right financing follows.

His five -digit sum goes to Better equipment, camps, facilities, diet and nutritional support.
‘Volk’, born in Wollongong on the south coast of NSW, would never earn his hard to pass on to anyone else than the Red V.
Waiting for years for years Mixed martial arts to be followed properly, he understands the struggles with which semi-professional athletes are confronted.
“I know that when I was able to go professionally and full time, I (soon) went to a new level,” he said.
“I don’t expect money to be able to repair everything, but if we can show it in the right direction, we can see the sport grow.”
Volkanovski first came to the Octagon as a professional in 2016, and almost ten years later one of the most respected figures in sport is worldwide.
‘The Great’ is a double UFC World Featherweight Champion with a career record of 27-4, with 13 wins via knockout.
Volkanovski was previously a striking for Warilla Gorillas in the Group 7 Rugby League competition.
In 2010 he received the prestigious Mick Cronin Medaille After he has assessed the best player of the competition.
