Colorado Wildfires: Utah Wildfire exceeds the state border to Montrose County

The nearly 13,000 hectares of wildfire burning in Eastern Utah on Monday evening crossed the Colorado limit and spread to Montrose County, according to fire brigade officers.

That fire, the Deer Creek Fire, joins four others who are already burning on the western slope of Colorado.

According to brand agencies in the area, those four have already destroyed at least 7,981 hectares.

Deer Creek Fire near Paradox

Utah’s Deer Creek Fire Almost 3,000 hectares grew between Monday and Tuesday and slowly spread across the border of Colorado, the fire brigade officers of Utah said.

From Tuesday morning the fire burned on 12,906 hectares in Oost -Utah and West -Colorado and was 7% contained, according to fire brigade. That is an increase of 2,848 hectares compared to the estimate of Monday morning.

It is unknown how much the fire was burned in Colorado, but Utah fire brigade officials said it crossed the state near Paradox, just north of Colorado 90.

Thunderstorms and irregular winds that are predicted on Tuesday afternoon can increase fire activity, according to Utah Fire infoA Task Force that cooperates with national and federal agencies.

South Rim Fire near Montrose

The natural fire that burned in and near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, grew to nearly 4,000 hectares on Monday evening, according to fire brigade.

From Monday, the South Rim Fire had 3,988 hectares without inclusion, according to federal officials.

The nature fire, about 15 miles northeast of Montrose, is one of the four fires that are fueled by lightning during a Thursday storm and still burns.

They burn and the Deer Creek Fire Together brought Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to issue a verbal disaster statement on Sunday.

Wright Trek Vuur and Turner Gulch Fire near Gateway

Two forest fires that burn the southwest of Grand Junction in Mesa County have according to the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit.

The fires near Gateway were last mapped at 12:51 pm Monday, According to fire brigade officials.
