The ASICS GT-2000 13 is marketed by ASICs as a shoe for runners with a neutral pedestrian pattern and those who overprove. Could this be a unicorn of a shoe that meets the needs of both? Spoiler, we don’t think so.
As a neutral runner, I actually never considered a stability shoe- I may have had a somewhat unfavorable opinion about them. But more brands lean on these “neutral stability shoes”. That means that they correct your course very much and to be honest, it is more of what most people need than something that is really rigid and stiff to force their foot into a specific movement.
The Asics GT-2000 13 Leaved me to reconsider my first thoughts about stability shoes.
Although it was never my favorite shoe, I understand why so many runners have repeatedly used to it.
- Wide feet: It does not come in a broad option, but the Teenbox feels well.
- Heavier runners: Cushion can absorb the impact and the stability is favorable.
- Long runs: We feel that it needs more kisses to really keep long runs.
- Front of the package: A nice everyday trainer, but not ideal for picking up the pace or for racing day.

ASICS GT-2000 13 Overview
The ASICS GT-20000 model has been around for a long time and is a popular stability shoe. So what does this shoe form that achieved his 13th model? Let’s know.
The Asics GT-2000 13 Builds on the updates that are seen in the previous model with the continuous use of the 3D guidance system and also offers a new breathable mesh above work and more damping in the forefoot.
My first impression after setting up the GT-2000 13 was “WHOA. This feels different.”
The Puregel technology combined with the FF Blast Plus foam gave a soft and muted feeling that felt a bit like goldilocks- not too soft, not too sturdy- it felt just right. The damping in the 13 is not as soft as in the 12, which adds a little more firmness under the foot. If you are looking for a more maximum muted feeling, view the Saucony Hurricane 24. In fact, we would probably look most of our heavier runners for some stability.
It is still enough enough to make this a great option for a daily trainer and is versatile enough to be used for different distances.
Runners with a heel strike landing pattern will probably find the damping in this shoe comfortable, and runners with a midfoot attack will appreciate that the GT-2000 13 Offers some flexibility in the forefoot.
This would be a good shoe for everyday efforts, but it would not be a shoe that I would reach on racing day or for speed training.

Asics GT-2000 13 Fit
I felt a bit like Cinderella when I first spent these shoes. The fit felt just right in the right places.
I have a wider forefoot and a lot of shoes rub a bit, but the Toebox on the GT-2000 13 felt spacious enough to be comfortable, but not so spacious that it felt like my foot was not safe.
The updated heel collar has exactly the right amount of filling without worrying about unwanted irritation or rubbing. There is also no need for my typical heel lock, because there was no heel slipping with the GT-2000 13.
Some stiff heeltellers cause discomfort for me, but I didn’t think that was the case in this shoe. Because the heel counters on this shoe are so rigid, I appreciated the addition of the loops at the back to pull the shoe on my foot.
The updated mesh above work was super comfortable. I have not noticed an extra room, but some runners may find the upper a bit cozy.
The tongue is thin and not really filled, but are not worried, you will not feel shoes digging in your foot. The tongue remained seated and I never had to worry about it struck while I ran.
ASICS GT-3000 13 Feel
This shoe was not entirely perfect for me. It was not as fast as I had hoped, and the damping absorbed too much energy during the run.
I have absolutely noticed that this shoe was working to roll my foot out while landing. Like a neutral runner, it felt like my body was working against the shoe instead of it.
Runners with mild to moderate overpronation will be the management of the Asics GT-2000 13.
If you prefer a stronger feeling and do not need much guidance, this may not be your matchBut it can be perfect for someone who is relaxed in stability.
ASICs added AHAR® Low hardness and Aharplus ™ heel plug rubber material on the outsole of the GT-3000 13 To help with the wear.
I just didn’t feel that there was enough traction in the outsole to be good in wet or slippery conditions. Maybe you want to choose another shoe if you are planning to go out for some rainy training mines.

I’m Stephanie. I am a middle age in the middle of the runner that bounces back after chronic exercise syndrome. I will be on a mission forever to find the best pair of running shoes and the best pizza. If I don’t run, I’m talking about running on my Instagram page on @stephrunsdopy or coaching the cross -country team of our local high school.
