RJD -Chef Lalu Yadav drove his older son Tej Pratap Yadav out of the party for six years on Sunday and also decided to break his ties with him, referring to his “irresponsible behavior” and deviation from the values and the public decorum of the family.
The development came a day after a post on the X account of Tej Pratap said that in the last 12 years he had a relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. Tej Pratap, who fights a bitter dividing battle with his alienated wife Aishwarya Roy, claimed that his account had been hacked, but the damage was already caused.
With his expulsion from the RJD -months before the crucial polls of Bihar Assembly, some analysts are of the opinion that TEJ Pratap can form a new party or ally with another party. In particular, he has formed many organizations in the past when he had no interest in the RJD.
Here is a list of some organizations that were previously founded by Tej Pratap.
Yaduvanshi Sena and Tej Sena – Tej Pratap announced the launch of an organization called ‘Tej Sena’ on 28 June 2019 and appealed to people to become a member of his group. He has formed ‘Yaduvanshi Sena’, an important step considering that the Yadav community has a population of 12 percent in Bihar. Through this initiative he tried to make contact with the people of the community.
Dharm Nirpeksha Sevak Sangh (DSS) – In 2017, Tej Pratap was the Dharm Nirpeksha Sevak Sangh (DSS), a youth organization to combat the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the BJP. In December 2018 he launched a teaser from the DSS on X. The teaser depicted the DSS as a secular outfit that welcomed and respected every religion. Eventually the former Minister of Bihar was shown as Arjuna, who is sent by his car men, Mr. Krishna.
Lalu-Rubri Morcha – Named after his parents, Tej Pratap launched a parallel political outfit called the Lalu-Rabri Morcha in April 2019. He formed the outfit while expressing his dissatisfaction with the functioning of the RJD. Although he claimed that it was not a separate faction, the move was seen as a sign of internal gap within the party prior to the Lok Sabha elections. Later he had to settle for his brother, Tejashwi Yadav, as number one of the party.
Chhatra Janshakti Parishad (CJP) – Tej Pratap founded the Chhatra Janshakti Parishad, a student body, in September 2021. This followed an altercation with Jagadanand Singh, the head of state of the RJD at that time. Tej Pratap said that the primary goal of the CJP would be to draw attention to the unemployment, health and educational problems of Bihar. However, Tej Pratap made it clear that his student group was not an independent entity, but would rather be an essential part of the RJD, with the primary goal of strengthening the party.
Apart from this, TEJ Pratap can explore other options.
Can become a member of JD (U) or BJP – Tej Pratap can knock on the doors of JD (U). During the term of office of Mahagathbandhan, TJ Pratap also worked as a minister in the government -led government. Tej Pratap can also get an offer from the BJP. In the past, when he expressed his resentment and drove his own outfits, there was a chat that he had contact with the BJP leadership. But at that moment he was neither driven out of the RJD, nor was his father angry with him. However, it seems unlikely that he will join the BJP, because he has always believed in secular politics. With scandals and controversies that are linked to him, such as the divorce case with Aishwarya Roy, it seems impossible with the JD (U) or the BJP.
Will fight for his existence – Although Tej Pratap has been driven out of the RJD, some have the feeling that he may not be out of operation for long. According to observers, the older Yadav could fight for its existence within the party and in due course would remain in the shadow of his father’s leadership. With this month, the RJD High Command can be put under pressure to withdraw the expulsion of TEJ Pratap prior to the polls from Bihar Assembly.
Could fight elections as an independent – If Tej Pratap decides to dispute the upcoming polls from Bihar Assembly, planned for October-November, or form an alliance with another party, this can be a challenge for the RJD.
One chance can come to the fore that as an independent candidate, the RJD will not take his candidate out of that specific chair and will give his allies. With this, the chances of the victory of TEJ Pratap will be larger because he could view a chair-dominated chair.
