A driver shouted a car in a crowd on a Filipin Festival in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday evening, causing several victims to be killed and others were injured, the local authorities said.
The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. on the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party, the police of Vancouver said in a post on social media.
“A number of people were killed and several others were injured after a driver a crowd at a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser drove shortly after 8 p.m. tonight,” the police said.

The exact number of people dead or injured was not immediately known.
The driver was taken into custody, the police said. The motive for the person who enters the crowd is currently unclear.

Video that was placed on social media showed victims and rubble littered over a long stretch of road.
