TThe government of the Congress in Karnataka is completely ready to mark her second birthday on March 20 with a mega event in Hosapete in Noord -Karnataka.
It was an eventful two years for the man in the hot chair. Minister -President Siddaramaiah has managed the economy of the state skillfully, including the costs of financing the ‘Five’ guarantees’ congress; the social welfare agenda handled; And met developmental and infrastructure needs, even if this meant that the prices of fuel and drinks are increased to clean up extra resources. His government has increased programs and increased reimbursements to various segments of society. It has spent almost £ 80,000 crore on the five ‘guarantees’, including free bus rides for women. This year it also successfully conducted a global investor meeting and has surpassed its target by obtaining £ 10 Lakh Crore in investments.
But the Chief Minister has also passed many political storms, including attempts to use his function, faction in the congress, alleged scam and the combined attack of the Bharatiya Janata party and Janata Dal (Seculence). His series of problems started with the alleged multi-crore scam in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki planned Tribes Development Corporation, which is still being investigated by the Directorate for Enforcement. This was followed by the alleged illegal allocation of 14 locations (now surrendered) by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to his wife Parvathi; Political tensions about the socio-economic and educational survey of the state of Backward Classes Commission; And the problem of faction. On many occasions, Karnataka was also confronted with social tensions, but the government treated these situations firmly and translated to stimulate caste and common struggle.
After his non -repellent campaign in the 2023 elections with regard to the corruption -declarations of the ‘40% committee ‘against the previous BJP government, the congress ironically is now infected in the same way and apparently unable to anticipate the development front. The government has set up a judicial committee of inquiry to investigate the alleged committee when granting public contracts during the term of office of the BJP government. But so far no conclusive evidence has been found that some serious expired and irregularities in COVID-19 management has equipped.
In the meantime, the government has also had a collision course with RAJ Bhavan and the Union government modified by Narendra. It protested strongly against Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for punishing the persecution of Mr. Siddaramaiah in the Muda country issue, even while he did not punish the persecution of JD (s) leader and Minister of Union HD Kumaraswamy despite repeated requests by the Karnataka Lokayukta. The government has also complained to the governor for containing accounts by the state legislator and for retaining the president’s approval proposal with a quota of 4% for Muslims (under the other backward class quota) in public contract works. The congress dispensation has also often attacked the modi regime for refusing a reasonable share in the deconcentration of taxes to Karnataka, reducing subsidies under the 15th finance committee and postponing approvals for long-term irrigation projects.
The government has also completed various rights and order issues. In 2024 a bomb exploded in a café in Bengaluru. In the same year, a student, Neha Hiremath, in Hubballi, was stabbed to death; Recently a Hindutva activist, Suhas Shetty, in Mangaluru, was murdered. A few borrowers who could not repay loans that were derived from non -registered microfinance institutions died from suicide. The State Police is also reportedly abused privileges in the Golden Smuggling store in which actor Ranya Rao was involved.
In the midst of speculation about a possible change of leadership, the factions that are loyal to Mr. Siddaramaiah and Vice Prime Minister DK Shivakumar have been involved in shadow fights in an attempt to undermine each other in the past two years. In the end, the intervention of the All India Congress Committee Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge forced the warring factions to calm down, at least for the time being.
With India and Pakistan who agree with a cease -the Fire, the government has decided to continue its ‘Sadhana Samavesha (performance Rally)’ on 20 May. But in the future it certainly needs more peace between its factions.
