The album, with Ghostface Killah, was released 30 years ago
Because the Staten Island/Brooklyn collective Wu-Tang Clan is on the road for his last tour, two of his members, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, have released the trailer for one of the more popular albums of the group, Raekwon’s, Raekwon’s, Raekwon Only built 4 Cubaan Linxentitled The Purple Band Files.
When every member of Wu started to release solo projects at the start of the collective recording career, an unexpected solo project bubbled throughout the hip-hop streets. And although it was a Raekwon project, the album felt more like a duo with his selected henchman by his side, Ghostface Killah. The album became an immediate classic among hip -hop heads 30 years ago, in 1995.
Dub -synchronized “The Purple Tape files, ‘a documentary was filmed to reveal the inner operation of Raekwon’s first solo project. The project is released via Third Eye Films.

According to ComplexSome of the biggest names of Hip-Hop are included in the doc with their view of the classic hip-hop recording that still resonates with real hip-hop fans worldwide. Hip-hop luminaires such as MAN method, the RZA, Ghostface, as well as Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes, The Alchemist, DJ Premier, Charlamagne Tha God, NAS, 9th Wonder, Fat Joe, Peter Rosenberg and Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, to name it.
Raekwon spoke about his way of thinking while recording the album: “I brought myself into a serious mind frame. A serious album with stories. I had to make this product stand out.
“I knew Purple Royalties represents, and that is exactly what I was looking for.”
A release date is not mentioned, but the album made his debut on August 1, 1995.
