The party called for immediate diplomacy and dialogue with Iran, because the American attack on important Iranian nuclear facilities caused the fear of a broader regional conflict.
The national spokesperson and senior leader of the congress, Pawan Khera, underlined that India has always had “peace enforcement” and Constructive role in the Middle East.
“What is surprising and shocking is the full silence of the prime minister, whether it is about bombing innocent citizens in Gaza, or targeted murders by Israel in other countries or now the US that Air Force using Iran … India has always had peacekeeping and constructive role in Western Asia,” said Khera.
Khera pointed out that even politicians in Pakistan put pressure on her government to reconsider the decision to recommend President Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize for 2026 after the US became a formal member of Israel’s war against Iran.
Pakistan was confronted with brickbats from his diplomatic community and authors and activists after it had presented the name of Trump for the Nobel Prize last week, in the coming hours after the president had organized his army chef in the White House.
The Shehbaz Sharif government has credited Trump’s “decisive diplomatic intervention” during the hostilities between India and Pakistan.
‘PM must show more moral courage’
Congress-General Secretary-in leadership of Communication Jairam Ramesh also closed the modi government for criticizing or convicted of the American bombing and the aggression of Israel, who killed more than 600 people in Iran.
