Artemisia, Caravaggio, Hopper in the weekly schedule of Sky Arte
On July 8, 1853, the firstborn of six brothers, Artemisia Lomi Gentilesschi was born in Rome, the teacher of Baroque painting, today icon of feminism, whose life oscillated between existential drama and sublime creation.
Tuesday 8 July at 5.10 pm An HD Arte Sky production entitled Italian season – Artemisia – an artist under accusation Consider the powerful brush on the occasion of the birthday of birth. On the other hand, there is the ideal journey, dreamed, but never made by the artist himself, who wanted to return to the eternal city from which he was forbidden before dying. The canvas dates from 1610, the year of the painter’s death. The insertion of this extraordinary work in the route of the exhibition of the exhibition set up in Rome on the occasion of the Holy Year offers a non -published look at the last months of Caravaggio’s life.

Friday 11 Phil Grabsky invites you to enter the atmosphere of Edward Hopper through a journey that reveals the historical context in which an American talent develops its first steps in the art world. The adventure begins at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the young American student starts painting his little canvases and creates illustrations that tell the newspaper and artistic avant -garde, who represent the cities, houses, portraits of solitary and independent women, in the way the impressionists.
