Is it real? On Monday, the last of our season closed two forever with a nail biting seventh episode and a large cliffhanger for a good measure.
It has certainly been a roller coaster ride. Season two threw a large key in the work by killing the character Joel of Pedro Pascal in the second episode – and forcing Ellie (Bella Ramsey) while he was essentially beaten by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).
The rest of the season Ellie followed her search for revenge. It has been a search that brought her all the way to the ruins of Seattle, where a brutal fight is raging between the WLF paramilitary group and the religious fundamentalist Serafites.
The final was the highlight of Ellie’s journey. But what exactly happened?
Spoilers forward for the TV series and video games: beware!

The episode picks up after Ellie Nora (Tati Gabrielle) finds and tortures about the residence of Abby, after having chased her to the guts of an old hospital building filled with Cordyceps. Nora told her about a “whale” and “wheel” before he shattered the parasite, and when Ellie returns to Dina (Isabela Merced) she is in a state.
Ellie finally tells Dina why Abby wanted revenge in the first place (Joel killed Abby’s father, as well as the entire Firefly movement) – and Dina finally realizes the truth. Joel was a murderer, Ellie’s search is fruitless and they all have to return home.
But Ellie can’t let go of her desire for revenge, and while she comes out on a recon trip with Jesse (Young Mazin), she sees a Ferris wheel and aquarium on a flooded part of the city. She leaves Jesse and tries to get a speedboat to the wheel before being rinsed in a serafiet camp.
She was taken prisoner and almost withdrawn, but at the last minute saved by a WLF attack on the camp; When she finally reaches the aquarium, she does not find Abby, but she finds two of her crew: Owen (Spencer Lord) and Mel (Ariela Barer).
They don’t tell her where Abby’s place of residence tries to reach out his own gun, Ellie fires in self -defense and she accidentally kills both.
Mel happens to be pregnant, and while she dies, she begs with Ellie to save her baby’s life by giving her a C section. Ellie, shocked by what she did, can’t – and Mel dies her delirious.
At this point Jesse and Tommy finally find Ellie, who is deeply shocked. She agrees with them that they have to return to Jackson, but too late: Abby finds them in the theater and she is out for blood.
A furious Abby then shoots Tommy in the leg and kills Jesse. She tells Ellie that she let her live – of which she clearly thinks it was a mistake. Abby then points and fires to Ellie – and the screen cuts to black.

Unless the TV program takes a different way to the game, then no. In the game, Ellie survives the attack, but remains deeply shocked and increasingly bitter towards Abby – not only for killing Joel, but also for killing Jesse. However, how she escapes can play differently.
What for season three now?
There will be a season three, but it will not contain much of Bella Ramsey. A short epilogue shows Abby that is stated in an American football stadium community that serves as the basis for the WLF forces.
This strongly suggests that, just like in the games, we are now going to change Focus and go instead of in Abby’s background story, motivations and journey. The games were written as a meditation about the cycle of violence and wraake costs; It seems very likely that the show will follow the same path and give our sympathy for someone we have seen so far as a monster.
