Smokey Robinson is examined by the Sheriff’s Department of Los Angeles County after being accused of sexual violence by four anonymous former employees.

On Thursday, the Sheriff department confirmed that it opened an investigation into the allegations that were made against the 85-year-old singer in a lawsuit that was filed last Tuesday.

“The Sheriff’s Department Special Victims agency of Los Angeles County is actively investigating criminal accusations with William Robinson aka ‘Smokey Robinson’. The research is in the early stages and we have no further comments,” said a representative of the Lasd in a statement shared with Fox News Digital.

Robinson’s lawyer, Christopher Frost, responded in a statement on FOX News Digital and writes: “We are aware that a police report has now been submitted by the claimants in the civil lawsuit. It is clear to us what is happening here. The claimants have only taken a police report after they have tensioned a $ 50 million lawsuit.”

He continued: “This only means that the police are now obliged to investigate. We welcome that investigation, involving claimants who continue to hide their identity, because exposure to the truth is a powerful thing.”

“We are convinced that a determination will be made that Mr. Robinson has done nothing wrong, and that this is a desperate attempt to harm public opinion and make a media circus even more than the plaintiffs could create earlier,” Frost added.

“The record will ultimately show that this is nothing more than a manufactured lawsuit that is intended to deliver the good names of Smokey and Frances Robinson, for no reason other than unadulterated gigariness.”

Robinson was accused of attacking and raping four former householders who worked in his house in Chatsworth between 2006 and 2024, according to the court case.

The accusators are looking for $ 50 million compensation.

In addition to the allegations against Robinson, his wife Frances has been fired for alleging perpetuation of a toxic working environment.

The accusators claimed that Frances “did not take the correct corrective measures to prevent the deviating misconduct of the suspect Smokey Robinson, despite the fact that the” full knowledge of his earlier acts of sexual misconduct had, cases with other women who continued members and experienced by him. “

According to the court case, one of the four accusators, Jane Doe 1 worked for the Motown legend from January 2023 to February 2024, but was forced to resign because of Robinson’s “repeated sexual attacks and sexual harassment against her.”

She claimed that Robinson sexually abused her “at least 7 times” while she was employed by the family. She was not willing to report the incidents because of “her fear of living for her living, family reprisals, public shame, shame, shame … to lose the possible adverse effect on her immigration status …”

“Plaintiffs were seriously damaged and humiliated by the behavior of the suspect Smokey Robinson,” the women in their lawsuit claimed.

In addition to sexual battery and abuse, the four women complained for negligence, intentional giving up emotional need, gender violence and a number of violations of the labor code.
