The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has launched a new tool aimed at helping small companies to reduce trust in foreign supply chains by directly connecting them with American manufacturers and producers.
The onshoring Great Again Portal, unveiled on May 20, 2025, offers free access to a database with more than 1 million domestic suppliers, giving small companies the option of finding components, products and materials made by the US. The tool is part of a broader federal initiative to breathe new life into American production and to improve the resilience of the supply chain.
“The SBA is proud of President Donald J. Trump’s mission to support the economic revival of America by enabling small companies to increase the means to increase Made in America’s return,” said SBA manager Kelly Leffler. “The Make onshoring Great Again Portal gives work makers a direct line to more than a million domestic suppliers-the replacement of foreign dependence through access to American-made solutions. It is a decisive step towards the reinforcement of the power of our nation by stronger supply chains, small businesses and a renewed commitment to the American industry and a renewed commitment to the US industry” “” “”
The SBA developed the portal in collaboration with sponsors in the private sector and integrated access to three databases with a list of verified American manufacturers, suppliers and producers. According to the SBA, the portal has been designed to reduce the exposure of small companies to overseas disturbances, improve quality control and shorten lead times for purchasing.
The initiative also comes in accordance with the economic priorities of the administration, which emphasize the production of production, the rebuilding of American industry and limiting dependence on foreign opponents, in particular China. The declaration of the Agency frame the portal specifically as a way to “put an end to the concentrated dependence on our nation of foreign suppliers and opponents such as the Chinese Communist Party.”
The Portal is the newest in a series of programs led by SBA under the Made in America Manufacturing Initiative, which was launched earlier this year. This broader effort includes actions such as:
- Expand access to capital for American manufacturers
- Promotion of the development of an experienced household workforce
- Cutting $ 100 billion in legal costs that affect small manufacturers
Moreover, the SBA has approved the recent two -part legislation that the SBA -Loingcap wants to double for small manufacturers. The bill is framed as another means to ‘super loading’ the return of the American industrial capacity and to increase the competitiveness of domestic companies.
With the launch of the Onshoring portal, the SBA says it offers a practical source to help small companies switch their activities to the American purchasing and supply chains. Civil servants say that the portal is part of a larger national strategy aimed at strengthening entrepreneurs, revitalizing local economies and strengthening US economic independence.
