In 2025, with the global climate and more things that distribute us than to unite, football is a bit on a beacon of the community. As Vikings fans, “we keep” fans and players from other NFL teams, especially our NFC North Divisional Brethren? Not really. We do hate them? No, absolutely not.
So let’s concentrate on positivity and compliment teams around the Vikings’ division of the NFL North today. We may not all see the eye to eye for the team for which we are carrots, but we were also born with the possibility to set aside bias and to give credit where it can be to them.
Everyone, be brave and let us put on our “Minnesota Nice” hats.
Detroit Lions – The city of Detroit deserves the new Leeuwen era
It hurts to say for the Vikings, especially because Lions fans have sometimes been a bit insistible because of all these newly found ‘winning’ and not knowing how to act, but the city of Detroit really deserves this iteration of their lions, the benefit of the entire organization and the beacon of hope within the limits of the city.
We all know the struggles that the city has had to deal with, especially around the time of the recession in 2008 and the car industry that is in the balance. The Motor City continued and continues to build on its own successes. I don’t know a ton about Detroit and his daily tests and trials, but of course we know the stereotype around the area, and the lions are that directly affect the city financially.
It is a city that pulls itself up through its bootstraps, and the Detroit Lions from Dan Campbell are a suitable piece of symbolism for a city that comes up when they are brought down. Don’t get too good if you are a Lions fan reading this; You are still annoying.

Chicago Bears – you might finally have done well
In a similar vein like the Detroit Lions, unfortunately for the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears can finally get things right and go in the right direction.
Their trade in 2023 with the Carolina Panthers to come from the first round that year and eventually landed with the first general pick in 2024, which ended up Caleb Williams (as well as many other returns) was a masterful maneuver, and Ryan Poland should be awarded for that. They may also have received the head coach and an attacking spirit that the city has long for decades in Ben Johnson, ironically, from those Detroit Lions.
The bears look like they are going in the right direction, to the great dismay of the Vikings. As Vikings fans, we may have been spoiled a bit by the bears and lions who have been in purgatory for decades and they see as easier games on the schedule, but if we are honest, we have also been in purgatory.

To be honest, I just don’t have much nice to say. I love some of your young players, and I think in my earlier conversations with fans of other NFC North teams I have learned that Packers -fans are one of the most knowledge of the sport.
I just can’t pass the ‘owner’. However, I like cheese.
