This is now the 4th repetition of the triumph for my foot and we remain a very happy match. Let’s talk about what is new for the Saucony Triumph 23 and why it is a great daily trainer for so many.It is rare to love a shoe for many years and many iterations. The Saucony Triumph has seen some changes since I first felt the pure joy of his pillow in the 20th model.
While I enjoyed the Triumph 22I noticed that as the year progressed, I did not reach it as often as other maximum muted shoes in my closet. But the first run in the Triumph 23 wondered if I had lost my mind because it was again a pleasant ride.
There is a reason why we included it in our updated Best Gedempte Running Shoes List year after year. Even with changes they only seem to make a little better!
- Wide feet: More than a lot of Saucony shoes, but I would still opt for the wide version.
- Heavier runners: Great pillow that feels stable and durable.
- Long runs: Absolutely designed to give you comfort about longer miles.
- Front of the package: Great recovery shoe or easy run -mijlen, but simply damping enough to lack pop for picking up.
The Triumph 23 is a maximum muted daily trainer who is not overly soft. Changes in the fit will make it work better than previous models for people with Achilles or hind -foot problems.
Saucony Triumph 23 Review
If you want great pillows that is not one of the massive stacking heights, the triumph comes in hot. It is both damp and stable, but at 37 mm instead of many of the new shoes that touch 45 mm+.
The 22 switched from their standard PWRRun foam, to their super trainer PWRRunPB ™ foam, which is the same as the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4. That change last year was nice to get that combination of Eva and Peba. It gives the shoe more softness, but without sacrificing the sustainability we want in a daily trainer.
In this update we think the shoe drops weight!Losses about a shoe on a shoe that is used for many long runs while retaining the stack height is perhaps the reason why it feels a smidge softer for us than the 22? Saucony also claims that it is softer because of a slightly new mix of the two foams and we agree!
I was pleasantly surprised about step and knew immediately that I would recycle the 22’s to run more often in the 23s.
Part of the weight reduction came from reorganization of the outsole to remove a little rubber. The result is to increase flexibility in the toe, which is probably where it reduced part of the firmness or stiffness compared to last year.
As I often do, I put both shoes next to each other to compare the feeling. Not everyone loved the change from 21 to 22 because the shoe was not that soft. Thanks to that update, however, the shoe felt more stable and offers better support for longer miles. It is absolutely not a daily trainer who is designed to tackle the pace, but the weight reduction feels absolutely fun.
Why do we continue to call it a great around daily trainer?
The foam combination makes it durable. The lower pile is more comfortable for so much more comfortable and now it is lighter weight an extra bonus on those long -term days. It is a shoe that can wear the middle and back of the peloton on half marathon and marathon racing days!
Although it is by no means a speed shoe, the foam used helps to return energy return compared to other large plush -filled running shoes.
- Weight: 9.2 Oz Men, 8.4 Oz Ladies
- Very drop: 10 mm
- Pile: 37 mm
- Available in 10 colors
- Available
- Now available at Saucony.com $ 160
- The 22 is now marked … Crochet it!
The stack height remained this on this, so it was mainly about reducing the weight and making some changes with the fit that also seemed to improve the softness.
Fast
Some highlights and lows as we have with all shoes! To be honest, our biggest disadvantage for this shoe is the 10 mm drop, which is still a bit high for some people who are dealing with knee pain while running or IT band problems.
- Max kisses with their top of the line cushion
- Wider fit than other Saucony shoes
- Better stability than a lot of maximum muted trainers
- It is a lot of stacking height not to be a plush pillow
- Not much traction for wet runs or paths (it is not a trail shoe)
- 10 mm heel drop can be too high for those who often deal with it, tire problems
Saucony Triumph 23 Fit
In recent years I would describe some Saucony shoes such as the Kinvara as a smaller fit; I wouldn’t say that for the triumph. This is a very average fit shoe and they have made a few other updates to try to improve the overall fit.
I was wearing my normal size, but I will say that if you have a broad foot, just go for the wide, simply because of the thick padded tongue and heel collar takes up that space in the shoe. Both are comfortable, but considerable and do nothing to help the shoe feel light or breathable.
This year they made a few changes around Fit.
At first you may notice that the heel collar retains more and is smarter. I was really eliminated and looked at the shoe and expected some discomfort. However, I never noticed it, there was no rubbing or other problems.
The goal here will probably help the heel to be more locked up, which will offer more stability and control with a very muted shoe.
Secondly, they moved to a sock like suitable with the tongue tongue. I am a big fan of this across the board in running shoes because I hate the fact that the tongue moves everywhere. It is a large soft tongue, soft heel collar and overall beautiful fit.
The only complaint from many is that the shoe runs warm. I think I sweat a lot, regardless of which shoe I am, so this has never been a complaint about the triumph.

Saucony Triumph 23 vs Triumph 22
For me, the big question is always how it relates to the recent model that many of you are familiar with (and that I have walked many kilometers in myself!).
I will often tell you that the previous model is for sale what you should go with a discount, but this time I prefer the 23 and find it worthwhile to pay the extra $ 20- $ 30. Unless you can find the 21 for sale for a real stem.
A quick peak back on the 20, 21 and 22, which are now all lovingly donated to a new house.

I have noticed many of the above changes, but a fast outcome:
- 23 is an ounce lighter than the 22
- 23 returns to that somewhat softer feeling
- More structured heel collar is going to increase stability and control
- Changes in the top, but didn’t make it really breathable
Saucony Triumph vs Saucony Ride
Both the Triumph and Ride from Saucony are considered neutral trainers, but they are absolutely different shoes. Depending on your foot type and running style, one shoe might be better with you than the other.
If you already know that you want more kisses, the triumph will be your neutral shoe of your choice. Of the three it is the shoe that I recommend the most for runners on long distance.
Those focused on shorter runs, even up to 10 miles will be fine in the ride. It also looks much more like the running shoes that many of us began to wear in the early 2000s. So if your body has done well, you don’t have to change!
- Ride is a drop of 8 mm and now the lighter shoe!
- Triumph is 10 mm drop with more pillow.
- Triumph can now offer a little more stability
- Ride has a slightly lower stack height (a little less pillow)
- I prefer the lower drop and the moderate pillow for those who will use the shoe as a consistent daily trainer.
Okay, I really hope this Saucony Triumph 23 review helped you make a decision! I may not like every shoe I test, but I have discovered that sharing the details helps you find a shoe that you love.
And that is all that really matters.

This is a maximum muted trainer who does not go overboard with the plushiness. Instead, you feel stable and now lighter on your feet for those long -term days.
