London – A Russian rocket attack killed at least one person in the Ukrainian capital Kiev in the early hours of Sunday, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, while Moscow continued an intense period of long -distance attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The Air Force of Ukraine reported 23 missiles and 109 strike drones that launched in the country at night, of which 13 missiles and 40 drones were shot, with another 53 drones lost during the flight without damage.

Damage was reported in the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Mykolaiv regions, the Air Force said.

In the capital, Klitschko said that one person was killed and three people were injured, while fires broke out in “non-residential buildings”. One office building was also partially destroyed, he said.

Andriy Yermak, the head of the office of President Volodyymyr Zenskyy, wrote on Telegram: “Russia increases the intensity of attacks and clearly does not want to stop fire, does not want peace. It wants to kill Ukrainian, our children.”

“The language of violence is the only one [Russian President Vladimir] Putin understands: “Yermak added.” All our partners have to switch to this language. “

Zenskyy said the strike proved that “Russia’s pressure is still not enough.”

“Such attacks are Putin’s response to all international diplomatic efforts,” said Zenskyy in a statement posted on Telegram. “There can be no relaxation of the pressure. It is worth leading all the forces to guarantee safety and bring peace closer.”

In the meantime, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the armed forces shot 11 Ukrainian drones over three Russian regions at night.

Both parties continue long distance attacks as the American cease-fire negotiations continue. Last month both Kyiv and Moscow said they agreed to freeze strikes on energy infrastructure and final attacks in the Black Sea.

Since then, both parties have accused the other of the repeated violation of the agreement to pause attacks on energy infrastructure.

Ukraine has also accused Russia of deliberately aimed at citizens in large strikes in the past week. On Friday, a Russian ballistic rocket and drone attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih – the hometown of Zenskyy – 19 people, including nine children.

“Yes, the war must end,” Zelenskyy wrote in a statement from Saturday morning. “But to end it, we should not be afraid to call damage a kick. We should not be afraid to put pressure on the only one who continues this war and ignores all the proposals of the world to end it.”

“We have to put pressure on Russia, which chooses to kill children instead of a ceasefire -we have to enter extra sanctions against those who cannot exist without ballistic strikes on neighboring people. We have to do everything possible to save lives.”
