Rhysse Martin is not sorry about his comfort zone while he prepares for his former club in a Beltfred Super League collision in Craven Park on Sunday.

The 32-year-old second row finished a six-year-old Stint at Leeds to come to Hull KR at the end of last year to be laid by a dijing injury that required an operation for only four games in his new career with the reviving Robins.

Martin could hardly have time any better time after he had returned the victory of last week at Wakefield, and is now in line to compete against the rhinos, for whom he made 132 performances and had collected more than 1000 points.

Martin said to the PA press agency: “Come to the club to try to add something to the team, it was something that I absolutely did not want to happen. I wanted to be on the field to show what I can do for this team. But I am now back and I get another chance to earn the respect from my teammates.

“For me it just felt like time to make a change and take on a new challenge, where I had to start again. I think when you are in that kind of position, it brings the best of you as a player. When you take on a new challenge, you will find out what you are made of and how difficult you are.”

Martin’s Rhinos career always seemed to end up because they went to a second consecutive season without a play-off berth, and for a while he probably seemed to return to Australia before Willie Peters came in to add the Cool Goal-Kicker to jointly own the world-subsequent successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successful successive successful successful successful successful successful Subsequent Subsequent Subsequent Subsequent Subsequent Subsequent Subsequent Supporting.

The departure of former head coach Rohan Smith in June contributed to the uncertainty in Headingley, and with his replacement replacement Brad Arthur still far from certain long -term plans, Martin said that the situation confirmed his decision to move elsewhere.

Due to the “terrible” experience of looking at the victory of Rovers on Warrington from the sidelines, the running of Rovers only served to confirm his wish to win more with robbers, and a victory over the rhinos, one of the biggest contenders for a top-two lock, would be a big step in the right direction.

“My time at Rhinos was good, but I thought of the coming years,” Martin added. “I think they are in a position where they don’t know for sure where they are going with their head coach, while I knew that there was stability with robbers and they insisted on silverware, so that really made the decision a lot easier.”
