Former Manchester United Baas Erik ten Hag has reportedly made it clear that the Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is not in his plans at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Boniface, 24, enjoyed an excellent debut season in Germany, scored 21 goals and offered 9 assists in 34 games. He helped Leverkusen win both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal under former coach Xabi Alonso.
However, injuries disrupted his most recent campaign and he managed only 11 goals in 27 performances. With Alonso now in Real Madrid, Ten Hag has taken over in the Bayarena and is already making major changes to the team.
According to ChildTen Hag has chosen Patrik Schick as his most important striker for the 2025/26 season, despite the fact that the Czech attacker is not satisfied with his playing time previous term. Leverkusen will also complete the signing of Christian Kofane from Albacete as Schick’s Backup.
Boniface leaves that behind as the third-choice striker and on the way to the club. Leverkusen is said to be € 50 million for the Nigerian, who is interested in Premier League side Newcastle United.
But Boniface, who is part of the Super Eagles setup, has stated in the past that he prefers a move to Spain instead of England.
With his future now uncertain among ten hag, the summer transfer window saw the talented attacker find a new home in La Liga or beyond.
