Kevin Durant is set to add another chapter to his long and winding NBA story.
The Phoenix Suns has assigned the 15-time All-Star to the Houston Rockets In exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 Pick in the 2025 Draft and five second round picks, who ends his fruitless run in the desert, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Sunday.
Durant has spent the last two and a half seasons with the Suns since he was treated there from the Brooklyn Nets at the Handelsdeadline of 2023.
He originally came to Phoenix hoping to form a super team besides Devin Booker, but the efforts of the Suns were eventually in vain when they lost in the second round in 2023, the first round in 2024 and could not even make the play -offs last season.
Despite the lack of success of the Suns, Durant has remained productive. He an average of 26.6 points, six rebounds and 4.2 assists during the shooting of 52.7 percent and 43 percent from a three-point range in 2024-25, his age-36 season.
The rockets pushed their chips into a year of durant, bet that the former MVP and Houston can use in the title of the title.
The four-fold NBA score leader will join the All-Star Center Alperen Sengun and Breakout Wing Amen Thompson to a Rockets team that ended in the Western Conference on 52-30, but in the first round was bounced by the No. 7 Seed Golden State Warriors.
Houston still has to make a decision about the team option of $ 44.9 million from Fred Vanvleet after he had reduced the deadline until June 29.
Durant will be 37 at the beginning of 2025-26, but has succeeded in keeping his efficiency and Stat-line on the same footing with his earlier career remedies, while playing in 62 and 75 games in the past two seasons.
Nevertheless, Durant has hit countless injuries of his 18-year-old NBA career in recent years. On average, he has only had 54.8 games in the regular season since he suffered a torn Achilles in the NBA Finals 2019.
Although he comes with some risk, the rockets only have to take up money for his services for only one year, because he will become an unlimited free agent after next season. He will be in the books for $ 54.7 million.
