A powerful earthquake of 5.8 Magnitude has been beaten near the Dodecanese islands along the border of Turkey-Greece and controls vibrations over parts of southern Greece, West-Turkey and coastal areas of the Aegean Sea.
The earthquake, which hit UTC at 11:17 PM, was registered at about 12 miles from the island of Rhodes at a depth of 42 miles, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (Emsc).
Allegedly vibrations in the region were felt a lot, which led concern of residents in several cities and villages.
Local authorities in both countries are now assessing the situation, although no immediate reports of serious injury or structural damage have arisen. Emergency teams remain alert, where experts warn that after -shocks are possible in the coming hours.
Officials on both sides of the border continue to keep a close eye on the situation. Updates are issued as more information becomes available.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), an important earthquake took place on 3 June 2025, at 02:17 UTC, which registered a size of 5.8.
This tremor was felt in parts of South Greece, West -Turkey and nearby Ageic coastal areas.
Earthquakes are part of the regular seismic activity of the region, but experts have noticed that they seem to have become more often.
Moreover, the Mount Etna broke out on Monday, causing the region to be disturbed further.
