The last place you would think about doing a downward dog? A plane.
That can change soon, because apparently aircraft yoga is now something. Tiktok makers share videos during the flight of employees who accompany passengers through sitting yoga streams.
A viral video Placed Last month, passengers show a fully booked EasyJet flight with their arms, after the signals from a stewardess, while the flashdance -hit “Maniac” from the 80s plays over the speakers. The video has since viewed 1.5 million times.

“He really didn’t say DVT on this flight,” said a comment. Others were on board with the idea. “Stop because this would calm my fear of the loads,” another user noted.
“You’ve ever done plane yoga?” Another tick user asked early, placing images of a flight from Spirit Airlines. In it, passengers extend their arms above their heads and follow together with the instructions of the stewardess: “Touch your toes, stretch your back,” he says. “And while you are down there, you grab all the waste that you threw on the floor.”
“Oh Spirit got jokes,” a user replied. “Absolutely something to do,” wrote another.
It appears that this is not the first time that Spirit has offered aircraft yoga as an activity during the flight. “Spirit Airlines: free snacks, absolutely not. Mid-flight yoga sesh-ja of course,” A tap -user posted In 2024. The passengers again followed the same yoga stream – with the same clou at the end.

Whether it is a smart trick to tidy up passengers, there is real science that supports the benefits of aircraft yoga. Flying, especially long distance, can reduce blood circulation, stiffen joints and increase the risk of blood clots. Flights for longer than four hours are considered a risk factor for deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
To reduce that risk, Healthline recommends Walk around at least once every hour and do calf exercises. Or what about participating in a fast yoga stream? Perhaps you leave the downward dog for after landing.
