One of the best contact -stroke people in recent MLB history is to hang his spikes.
Jean Segura withdraws from baseball after 12 seasons spread over six different Major League teams. The news was announced on Wednesday by the Segura office, CAA.
Segura’s best big league official period came with the Philadelphia Phillies from 2019-2022.
In that period, Segura .281 hit 43 gayers, stable 34 bases and scored 228 points.
Segura also spent four years with the Brewers, two with the Mariners and one each with the Diamondbacks, Marlins and Angels.
He led the National League in Hits (203) with Arizona in 2016. That season was his career-best average of .319.

Ironically, Seguras .281 Phillies also became his general stroke average of the MLB career, a big figure defined for an era by drops in that statistical competition.
Segura’s contact capacity was fantastic. He struck in just 13 percent of his career performances. However, he loved waving, but only ran around four percent of his travels to the record.
The Infielder, initially a short stop and ultimately a tools, was the last time in MLB in 2023 for the Marlins.
In 2024 he played in Triple-A for Norfolk.
His most recent professional promotion came in the Dominican Winter League last winter.
Segura was a dual all-star, and now he goes into baseball sunset.
